Possible Animation Domination in 2017

So, Spongebob is confirmed to come 2016-2017. Frozen may come in 2017, as well. Tom Schumacher denied the 2017 date, but sometimes when Disney denies a rumor, it ends up, being true (like Frozen 2). And it's very possible that Anastasia will come, as well. Not to mention LION KING & ALADDIN (unless Frozen takes its place). What are all of your thoughts on this?

That it's a little early to get worked up.

I am thawed out for Frozen, I have 'let it go' I do not want a musical. Anastasia on the other hand I am really excited for. I have waited a long time for this.

I am excited for both, but at the moment, I am especially excited for Anastasia. It's pretty miraculous that they found Anastasia because if you're a non-Disney/Dreamworks animated musicals before the 2000s, you are immediately forgotten. I'm especially excited because this is literally next year.

All the shows are going to be done live with real people, so no need to worry about them being animated properties...

With frozen I'm worried about Olaf and that reindeer unless they take a Julie Taymor approach with it.

If Frozen did come to the New Amsterdam, I would love to see some projection mapping effects to transform the lively Decor of the theater into a cold frozen wonderland. Besides the New Amsterdam, where else could Frozen fit?

The Palace would've great but The Lunt Fontanne as well. The Lunt has an interior that really does look like a palace Add some projections and BOOM! Frozen

I wouldn't hold your breath for Frozen coming *next* season. It's unlikely they've even finished a first draft of a stage adaptation yet.

I think it does seem very possible, and would be something interesting to see since animated properties other than from Disney hitting Broadway are pretty rare, so to have two in one season, with a Disney debut as well and the currently running Disney shows, would be a new precedent.

Disney's plans for Frozen maybe way out of the box . . . and a live stage adaptation in the works may not FIT in the New Amsterdam . . . but rumor is, in one plan, Aladdin moves to the Palace of the Lunt-Fontane, and Frozen takes over the New Amsterdam . . . but that was part of the 2017 shift . . . if Frozen or the next Disney show is not ready, maybe Aladdin stays put.
