#0Possible Macy*s parade B'way performances?
Posted: 10/23/06 at 12:15pmWe all love when Broadway shows perform at the Macy*s Parade and we all hate the fact that they have to lip-synch to a prerecorded track when they do. But does anyone know any possible shows that will give performances on that day. I know it is very early to predict but does anyone know?

Maybe "It's You're Wedding Day" from The Wedding Singer?

Posted: 10/23/06 at 12:46pmMy guess is something from The Grinch, if it's ready. It's a Christmas show, and part of the point of the Macy's parade is to kick off the Christmas season.

How 'bout JERYY LIKES MY CORN from Grey Gardens!
That would be different.

#5re: Possible Macy*s parade B'way performances?
Posted: 10/23/06 at 1:18pmMary Poppins for sure. Maybe Tarzan? Probably "A Chorus Line" as well.

May be 'At The Ballet.'
-Adam Shankman.

Has a DISNEY performance ever been on the parade show?
Is it a conflict because the parade is not on ABC.
They should put Donny on this year, the "Gaston" number would look great!

I have an idea:
It's Your Wedding Day
Medly: At the Ballet/Nothing/I Can Do That
Step In Time
One Day More

I was thinking something from The Grinch, ACL, The Wedding Singer (preferably It's Your Wedding Day), and Annie because Grinch and Annie are out for the Holidays.
I was even thinking something from Tommy Tune again? He's still doing Dr. Dolittle, right? I sure hope so.
Maybe Jersey Boys will even sing on like one of the boats or something like that?

Don't expect any Disney shows. Posibilities include:
The Drowsy Chaperone
The Color Purple
High Fidelity
Les Mis
A Chorus Line
Company
and maybe Grinch and/or Annie
Pick any 4 from above, I won't predict because there's usually a surprise for me. Anyway, I allways look forward to this too.

Any of those shows are good choices(anything that is appropiate for the Macy's Thanksgiving parade). I guess Radio City Music Hall Rockettes are pretty played out. But still it would be nice to see them in the parade.

Nothing from Tarzan, Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast, or Lion King since the parade is telecast on NBC, which isn't owned by Disney.
One from A Chorus Line.
It's Your Wedding Day from Wedding Singer
Hard Knock Life from Annie
Show Off from Drowsy Chaperone
Patrick Page as The Grinch will be on a float.

Posted: 10/23/06 at 3:30pmMy predictions, based on the upbeat nature of the Thanksgiving Day Parade. They're not gonna promote A Chorus Line by putting on a song nobody's ever heard of....they're gonna play the familiar song that everyone (even those who have no connection with musical theater) can sing backwards and forwards.

Posted: 10/23/06 at 3:37pmI hope there will be some Les Mis, I would think they would do "One Day More."
#21re: Possible Macy*s parade B'way performances?
Posted: 10/23/06 at 3:38pmI imagine A Chorus Line and Les Mis are good bets. If Mary Poppins performs, expect something like "Supercali..." or "Spoonful".

Word from the sewers is that Disney is trying to get Poppins to perform (nothing from Tarzan, LK, or BATB).
I'm willing to bet an ear and an eye that THE GRINCH will be performing...

My educated guess (based on knowing a member of the programming staff for the Macy's Parade) is:
The Grinch
Mary Poppins
A Chorus Line
The Color Purple
I'm not 100% sure, and she isn't either, but that is what I heard through the grapevine. Sounds like a great list, though
