they'll probably leave it b/c it reflects the time the show is taking place in. in rent, i wondered for a while if they'd change "at the end of the millenium" to at the start of the millenium or something but they left it b/c the show takes place in the 90's. if they keep changing q and it has a long run, it won't reflect the time anymore

Except that the setting for Avenue Q is "the present", it says so in the playbill, and I believe I read that they plan on making changes to suit the time throughout the shows run.

Actually, Jeff Marx, Bobby Lopez and John Tartaglia have all stated at different occasions that they don't know what to change the line to, but they definitely hope they will have to.

my mistake then. that's pretty cool though. i'm now excited about the changing. it will also get ppl to keep coming back i guess. but if kerry's elected it's hard to imagine a line that will get as much applause as the bush line. it's so much fun to sit in the theater and hear them say that and then hear the applause.
