I always follow the musicals and try to see what will potentially be Tony-nominated (and do well), but I admittedly rarely go to plays and don't really keep up with that world. (I'm a musician and gotta prioritize my $.) But I feel like expanding my horizons this year. What are one or two plays (that are still running) that will likely be well-rewarded come June 11? I did see Oh Hello and Play That Goes Wrong and enjoyed them both.
I looked at the "way too early Tony predictions thread," but as the title indicates, a lot of those comments are outdated or old speculation. Now that things are open or well into previews, I think there's a better sense of what will rise to the top on Tony night.
Thanks!
I would put money on nominations for Oslo, Sweat, Indecent, and Doll's House Pt 2. Doll's House is my personal favorite of that lot, but I think either Oslo or Sweat will win for their topicality and sense of importance.
