Pope John Paul II, in his younger years was a great actor, who, with such a background, became very capable of commanding a crowd.
Tonight, everyone, know matter what your religious beliefs, should say a prayer for a wonderful man.
Very nice, Apollo.

That is REALLY cool! I will most def. be praying for him right after I post this!
My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, colliges(sp? ignore that one), and all others that this man meant something to.
Whereas I am VERY sorry for his family and those millions who love him, I don't feel the need to pray for him.
He did many good things, many amazing things in his lifetime and overall was a brilliant man. However, he is a person who had the power and position to truly preach love and acceptance for ALL, and he failed to do that. I can't help but feel great sadness in the fact that it was his stance that I am a person who is undermining society, simply because I love. I can't pray for that, as unpopular as it may seem...what I will pray for is that those who will miss him will heal, and that the great things he has done are not forgotten.

My prayers are with him, may God bless him and keep him; no matter my personal beliefs, this man is at the end of his life and in not judging in any direction-may his life come to a peaceful end.
Let's keep this going.

As the Pope makes his way out of this world and into heaven during this beautiful time of year, may Angels light his path and comfort all those who mourn him, and guide those who must select a new Pope.
What a wonderful thread. Though one person has editorialized, I thank even them, for keeping it civil.
Let's keep up the good work.
God bless this man who has worked so hard for what he believes is the Light and the Way.
Thank you, Camthom, for expressing my feelings in a very Christian manner.

R.I.P.
I second the thanks to camthom. John Paul II, an amazing man no doubt, did not use his position to preach love and acceptance for all. I can only pray that the Catholic Church will now be led by someone who has a more open heart.
The Pope has died.
When??????????????????????
I can't believe he died. he'll be remembered...
Yahoo is reporting it. CNN's website still is not.
cnn has been covering it for the past 15 minutes or so. The Pope passed approx 9:37pm Vatican time.
RIP.
I obviously have respect for him and wish him well, but I don't believe in prayer...I don't understand.......
