Still waiting to see if the rumor is true that a separate recording with Kevin Mambo is coming out. I have a friend here in Washington State that is really good friends with him.

I believe a Playbill article said the Theater will carry the Mambo version.

The Kevin Mambo version is happening and is being released definitely......This is from the production.

I loved the show, but I think I would rather just buy Fela's actual album, not this cast recording.

I'm definitely going to try and get the Kevin Mambo version. Though I'm sure both are good in the role (and Sahr Ngaujah is the one who will score the Tony Nom and possible win), I saw Mambo in the role and thought he was great. Not sure why so much hate exists for such a wonderful show, but I'm happy they are releasing both versions.
