Now the pre-order price is $10.99.

Now it's $12.99 wtf?

The "complete-ist" in me will purchase this but I'm really not a fan of the interpolations or the casting. I own countless versions of this score and no one has yet to surpass Jill O'Hara's version of Knowing When To Leave, not Dionne Warwick, not Dusty Springfield, not Helen Reddy, not Betty Buckley, not Kerry O'Malley, and certainly not Kristen Chenoweth.

And a better looking front cover:

It seems strange the list price for this is around $13, where most (if not all) cast recordings go for around $18.

---

Hmmm, well it's around the same price as Amazon. I'm going to cancel my amazon order. Wonder what the extra are...

---

I guess I should just expect any CDs of new shows from Masterworks Broadway (Sony) to have B&N bonus tracks. Kinda sucks that they do this, though I kinda see why.

I do wonder what the extra tracks will be? Incidental music? Bows? Probably would be my best guess, unless there was a song they were going to put in that was cut (what was that song that they did at Encores that's not in the current show? Or am I thinking of a song from the workshop?)

---

I picked up teh B&N expanded editions of SOUTH PACIFIC and GYPSY. Neither release had anything of great importance compared with the general release versions. The second disc in GYPSY was mostly dialogue segments and scene change music. It's nice to have, of course, but hardly essential.

---

IF you want a note-complete SOUTH PACIFIC, try the 2 CD set from TER/Jay which includes the full score as well as all the utility music.

Is her name Marquise?

Yes, these "exclusive" tracks are disappointing. I wish they included the Entrance.
