Development hell, last I heard. Ground to a halt in February '07; William Goldman wanted 75% of the author's share even though Guettel was doing music and lyrics. Until that's resolved to everyone's satisfaction, the most you can expect to hear from Princess Bride is select performances of songs in workshops and at concerts.
