There's a musical written in Omaha, NE by a woman named Karen Javich (sp?) that was called Princess Diana: The Musical. It was supposedly a decent show and has been produced a couple times; there is a cast recording of the Original Cast somewhere but I'm not sure if you can find it anywhere.
Cheers,
Christopher

It's for sale here: http://cdbaby.com/cd/ksjavitch
I love it. It's truly so bad it's good. The music is pretty decent but the lyrics are...well... really so bad they're good.

TINA Brown wants to turn "The Diana Chronicles" - her best-selling book about Princess Diana - into a musical or an opera.
Theater sources say Brown's dream director is Stephen Daldry, who's staging "Billy Elliot" on Broadway next season. The obvious choice to do the music is Elton John (maybe too obvious), and his name is certainly being bandied about.
The idea is certainly titillating, and you can bet the press coverage of a Princess Diana musical would be intense.
"Can you imagine how the British tabloids would cover it?" says a veteran theater executive.
Still, Diana's story, very well told by Brown, is compelling drama.
Done tastefully, it could make one hell of a stage show.

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

Suggested lyrics:
Did Di die?
Di did.
Did Dodi die?
Dodi did.
Di Did die den Dodi did die.
Did Dodi and Di...
Why?
(heartfelt anguish and melisma)
Whyyyyyyyyyyy?
Send the Tony when you're ready.

Reading the subject heading, I thought "they've done it. They've come up with a subject that can't be musicalised. My words, let me eat them".
Clicking the thread, I thought "nope, just because I've said that doesn't mean no one'll turn Diana into a musical. Give it two weeks. People are shameful".
Reading the thread, I lay my head upon my keyboard and wept.
There is no god, Noah.
EDIT: okay, I have GOT to get me 'Princess Diana: The Musical'. And I never thought I'd find a show worse than 'Paris'!

There's already a very good musical about a woman who died young whilst having an enormous emotional influence over a country in which she was a leading figure; it's called Evita.
Any musical about Princess Diana would at best be a re-hash of that. Or at worst, like the subject of this thread, be a vulgar distortion.
Like keen says, let her rest in peace.
