I deffo going on the 25th. Confirmed by the press agent and everything.

I want to go but am down to pennies! I'm seeing too many other shows (not that that's possible, but it is money wise! =D)

I have got my ticket now, for March 25th, really looking forward to it, should be a blast.

Be good to hook up with some of the Broadway legends.

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

My first visit is next Fri, the 13th!!!!!!!!!!
I walked past there this morning about 11am and they and a huge hydrolic lift set up on the pavement that looked like it was about to mount something large!?
I now nothing more.

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

I guess the hydraulic lift is to get the punters in the Gods, have you ever tried to negotiate the stairs there?

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

i had to run up those stairs several times when i did whistle down the wind there - fell twice - but think of my developed calf muscles!!

Wow tell me more, what did you do in Whistle? One of my favourite musicals, I gather not many people on here liked it?

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

Quite common knowledge on here i'm an ex kenwright luvvie of 4 years!! (which was enough!)

I was part of the stage management team for whistle whilst it filled up the palace until spamalot came along - i basically moved ALOT of hay and shouted at little un's who got in the way of a tonne bridge which was coming down from the grid at an alarming rate! And its safe to say not a lot of folk liked it lol!

I must of saw you in this then, don't think the revival did very well? The US tour went down like a lead balloon!

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

yup you will have seen me walk on in my blacks at least one point!! i couldn't do that right - my cue was simple walk on behind the tunnel cloth and put the gun down behind it to be picked up by swallow - well typically i misjudged the bloody thing- the train tunnel came in on cue cut me off and left me infront of it - dropped the gun and ran!

still i've done a major****up in every show i've worked on - it certainly lightens the BKL mood!

Cool you were in it, if I remember the revival got a tentative reviews, thought the person who played the man was really great!

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

Tim was lovely, infact we had a great time on whistle - all the cast (with one exception) were lovely!!

However back to topic tho - i've finalised the date i'm seeing priscilla, last week in may hopefully and i'm catching the first performance of peter pan in kensington park!

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

I saw Whistle Down the Wind twice while it was at the Palace Theatre and really liked it.
It was obvious that it was a Kenwright tour plonked in the West End but as I only paid £10 and £15 to see it I didn't care one bit.

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

I really enjoyed Whistle I have to say, saw it with Glenn Carter and Tim Rogers (I think thats his surname) and both were excellent. I do wish Tim was in more, fantastic voice. Was also great in recent Aspects of Love tour

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

What was the best version of Whistle down the Wind the Gale Edwards version or the later Bill Kenrights?
#172

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

IMO the latter version was better lot of the boring parts of the original were chopped and the whole annie christmas theme was banised, despite us getting very mixed reviews...all the crits agreed that the show was an improvement on gale edwards aldwych show.

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

Will the bus be able to park smoothly in such a tight space, or will it go horrible wrong and hit a kerb, that is the question.

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

I think you know my answer to that Phantom. The bus will pull in without a scratch!!
