re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

That bawling monstrosity from Britian's Got Talent was cast as Millie? What money hungry producer thought that up?

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

At the time of the shows opening she was far from being the nations favorite.
I adored the show on Broadway but it barely limped along in London even with Maureen Lipman and Sheila Ferguson on board.

lol
I've just noticed my avatar for 'Itch' next to 'Millie'

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

So I take it Maureen Lipman was Mrs Meers. How bad must've Holden been to ruin such a great show?

I LOVE my cast recording with Sutton Foster - I cannot help but bust out while on my morning run when the the title song comes on :)

What a huge threadjack this is!!

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

I'm playing my Priscilla cast recording typing this, and I just wondered if they'll release a London cast recording, or continue the trend of reselling foreign recordings with different covers (aka Avenue Q and Wicked)

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

Millie sounds like it was not well produced over here, wondering if it would be worth doing this show again over here.

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

Who is Sheila Ferguson? It never seemed to be MILLIE to me without Tapioca and Jazz Baby in the score.

I hope that a new cast recording isn't made it really isn't required. You buy the Australian cast CD you get the same lead as you saw at the Palace in Tony Sheldon. Then again Joan Diener appeared in various productions of LA MANCHA (Broadway, London and Paris) and was onat least three cast albums of that show. Maybe Tony Sheldon will become the new Joan Diener!

I was hoping they would expand the orchestrations (if you can even call them that) and re-record. Kinda like West End Wicked or Avenue Q - both of which have had revisions to their shows since they released their OBCRs

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

But neither of those had OLCs made, sadly.
We are still smarting from the lack of a London 'Hairspray' recording!

Sheila Ferguson was a member of a girl group in the 80s called The Three Degrees who had huge hits around the world especially with 'When Will I see You Again'. Became very popular in the press for having an alleged affair with Prince Charles during her time in the group.
re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed
She has ventured numerous times into the theatre with appearances in 'Oh! What A Night!' (great 4 track CD of that by the way!).
The unforgettable flops, 'Always' and "Behind The Iron Mask'.
re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed
*thats her on the left!
Its a shame 'Millie' didn't work in London as she was perfect as the jazz club singer.
Every year can be found in the ever growing market of English pantomime.
A great all round performer.

Yes definitely have a double CD for OLCR of Hairspray, this will not happen now, a big own goal for the producers, if they done a cast recording with Michael Ball and Mel Smith it would of sold well.

Nigel Planer was very good as Wilbur by the way.

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

What the hell are you smoking double CD for Hairspray London? The whole score fits on one disc quite comfortably.

And my press tickets are confirmed for Priscilla. Mama had better be making introductions on the night.

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

Which nigh are you going. The press night or the Gala press night?
I know, even they are confused!

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

The Gala night!
I don't see a single reason in the world why you shouldn't buy me a drink!

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

Hang on ... you're both going Wednesday March 25?? I bought tickets at random a few weeks ago for that night. Is it a Gala or something?? I'm sitting Dress Circle C8

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

If you guys are going on the 25th, it be good to hook up, I can get a ticket, the only hitch is I am on late turn, I see what I can do when I am back on Monday with the roster!

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

" Behind The Iron Mask" looks a hoot!

I want to go on the 25th as well! Not fair.

re: The Big Pink Bus Has Departed

You're seeing Wicked soon, so you can't really complain.

(Be prepared to be blown away by Amanda's No Good Deed. Oh and when you see it, please report back whether Lucy is still doing her annoying squeaky voice and trying to sing the Opening without opening her mouth more than a one centimetre)
