Producers Tour Closing

Anyone know why the Producers tour is closing? I saw the show back in March and thought it was great. and the theater i saw it in was packed.

If it's closing it's not until after late November. I'm on the board of a performing arts center that it's coming to then.

Oh, well I didn't read the article. Just saw the headline and a couple opening sentences. I was just wondering why it was closing if the show is doing so well both on tour and on b'way.

Because I think the show's only venues left to play in North America are high schools and retirement homes.

That would be irony...old people with walkers watching old people with walkers.

Thank God!!!!

Now if they could just do something about the production that's still wasting space at the St. James. When they announced that Hunter and Brad were coming back to the show, my only reaction was "THE PRODUCERS IS STILL OPEN??!" I think watching that show I was the most underwhelmed I've ever been.

She didn't, the matinee was her only show.

She probably didn't want to deal with the crowd. There were literally twos of people outside. Threes even.

I was actually surprised by this show. During the first song I really thought itd suck, but it was really good. Probably the most I've laughed in any show. So well done. Not sure who played Max, but I coudlnt understand a word he said during "king of broadway." Might have just been the sound system.

OK, but back to me...

Can we please focus on the fact that I was just trying to hate on Xtina Applera...and failed. She's too cute. I had more fun watching her in the wings during the Rich Man's Frug than I did watching the Rich Man's Frug. Maybe I had trouble focusing because the dance was approximately 35 minutes long...OR MAYBE!!! it's because Xtina is just so freaking ADORABLE!

I think I'm really just upset she didn't come out after the show because it would have been win-win: If she was nice and I got a picture with her, that would have been AWESOME, but it would have been even more amazing if she just walked out and pulled an Idina on our asses! Can you imagine her going all diva on everybody?? It might have been the cutest thing EVER, but now I'll never know!

Wow. If you think I'm crazy, you should have seen the other people at the stage door today! 4 crazies, none of which I think actually saw the show today.

The U.S. tour maybe closing, but the Australian tour opens its Sydney season tonight.

A third tour is (was) beginning in September, but it has been delayed...the creative team is working on the movie.
