Yesterday, I saw The Producers for the 1st time. I'd give it 7 stars ou of 5, it was that good. First, I sat in the second row from the stage. Thgis was a Student Rush deal, but the only thing I found obstructing was the entrance of Roger in "Springtime." Other than that, I saw everything. All the principles were in, the only understudies being in the ensemble. Roger was hilarious, especially when going sapstic over the blanket. I thoroughly enjoyed "The Producers" and intend to rent the movie soon.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it!!
And I agree, the movie is great and you should definitely rent/buy it. The show is much better in my opinion, but you don't want to miss Zero and Gene's performances.

Great! It is so nice to hear someone enjoyed the show that you love, isn't it? I am going to see it again tonight, so I cannot wait!
Yes, I agree. For me, the original movie is a must, too!
I have to say that Susan Stroman's work on this production is flawless. She has constructed a show that has amazing flow. Her choreography is inventive. I can't think of a thing that should be changed with how she constructed this production.

...just got back from tonight's performance. There were a lot of things that I enjoyed, but mostly, I am so glad I could hear Roger barks again ...that brought me back to 1999.

And the Australian production is currently playing at the Lyric Theatre, Sydney.
At present there is the Broadway production, the Australian and London productions. The tour is about to go on hiatus with a side trip to Japan, are there any other productions of this playing in the world now? Europe? South America?

In addition to Broadway, London and Australia, and the Leo Tour thats over in Japan, there is also a non-Stroman version of The Producers that opened in Argentina. It's quite an interesting production from the photos I've seen of it (see above!). I'm surprised they allowed one that deviated from the Stroman direction..interesting nonetheless!

Bialybloom Inc, I will love you forever for posting that article. If only I could read it...
The American producers are not necessarily licensing the Stroman production anymore, so the German and Israeli versions will also be different.
I love that! I wondered what Ernest Borgnine was doing now. Updated On: 7/2/05 at 12:22 AM
