"Come to Your Senses" into "You Oughta Know" sounds like an ingenious segue.

re: Promise of Hope

It was a fun concert, lots of terrific performances. Some highlights for me were Eddie Varley and Jennifer Garnye's Suddenly Seymour, Lori Ann's rendition of Golden Thread, Mike McArdle singing Heart to Heart (and why didn't I know who he was sooner??), RobbieJ's You Oughta Know - brilliant, Brandon Wardell singing Journey's Open Arms and Greg Reuter's two numbers, which were hilarious. (And where are the Ars Nova Spotlight or Birdland concerts for all of the above, particularly the last two fellows??)

Great job by all, and kudos to everyone who participated for giving of their time and talent.

NBC... although it hurts me that you didn't mention Lisa...
I'll forgive you cause the other performances you mentioned were amazing as well. I'll just pretend that you stepped outside to use your phone during her performances re: Promise of Hope

Anyway! Where were you sitting!?

re: Promise of Hope

And fabulous job to Mr. Eddie Varley, of course! :)

Thanks everyone for the very kind words, it meant so much to have all of you there!

Last night was proof of the amazing talent both on and off-stage here in NYC, you can't find a better community of people, special thanks to Lori and Sabrina for letting me be a part of the evening, it truly was a special night.

re: Promise of Hope

Gotta agree, Eddie.

It was an honor to perform for such a great cause with such wonderful people.

And I must admit that I fell in love with Natalie Joy Johnson a little bit.

re: Promise of Hope

Last night was was so well done. Congrats seem out of place, but congrats to Lori Ann for putting this together so spur of the moment, though I wish you never had to in the first place. I hope your uncle loves the tape and he and your family are in my thoughts.

Eddie, I already told you how fabulous I think you were, but let me say it again, because it can't be said enough and that was just as the host. I won't even get into your Suddenly Seymour!

Robbiej, if you're the Rob who performed "You Oughta Know", I kiss your feet for making me laugh so hard. re: Promise of Hope

It was a treasure trove of talent and I'm so glad I got to hear so many people I wouldn't otherwise. Though, special kudos to Jenna Leigh Green for Come To Your Senses, I'm still blown away by it!

re: Promise of Hope

JLG sang COME TO YOUR SENSES? WOW! I posted that she would be great singing it a while back when Jamie asked for song choices for the BARE cast. When Phantom2 talks, people listen! HAHA

re: Promise of Hope

I am so jealous that I couldn't go to this event. re: Promise of Hope

I heard from Trisky how fantastic Jenna was singing "Come To Your Senses" (my fave song from Tick, Tick boom) and how funny Eddie Varley was.

And I missed RobbieJ's "You Oughta Know"?

re: Promise of Hope

Well those who know me know that I have been in love with Robbie and his talent since forever. So imagine my delight when a friend emailed me today to tell me just how spectacular he was. Not that I expected anything less, because those of you who have seen him perform in anything already know that he is the real thing. I just always enjoy hearing it reinforced.

Rest in peace, Iflitifloat.

re: Promise of Hope

Congrats to Sabrina Gordin, the Firsthand Theatre Project, Lori Ann Strunk and all the performers involved. It's always heartwarming when so many artists get together to do something good, and I'm always happy to come and support these events.

Having said that, I'm sorry to say that the concert was ruined for me by two women who were seated near the back entrance to the room. They keep talking throughout the show, even though they were shushed by others nearby. I even moved to another table across the room, but their chatter was incessant. I couldn't stand it anymore, so I left at the intermission. I'm sorry I missed the wonderful artists in Act II. I'm only hoping the offending twosome read this board, and realize how rude & discourteous they were to the performers and the audience.

Meantime, I wish Mark Morse and his family all the best.
