Pronounce Michael Cerveris?

How do you pronounce Michael Cerveris last name? Can you spell it out phonetically for me? I'm working on featuring a song from Sweeney with him and Patti LuPone in an upcoming podcast/radio show. Thanks.

And the accent is on the first syllable, with both of the first two syllables being of the "ir" sound. So it's properly pronounced SIR-vir-iss. I learned this after about a decade of thinking it was sir-VARE-iss.

Same here, Distinctive Baritone. That's actually EXACTLY how I was pronouncing it until he won his Tony for "Assassins".
