Public Investment Fund(PIF) and Broadway?

Considering how broadly Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund flaunts its money, is there any reason to believe PIF or any Saudi affiliates are a major investor in broadway shows? If not, how come they haven’t entered the market? If it were revealed that PIF was an investor in a show would that sour your interest in seeing that show?

I don't know about any PIF-specific involvement, but investments can come from many different places. Broadway shows regularly have investments from Russian oligarchs, conservative political donors, noted authors & actors, media moguls, and other figures. A lot of these are also passive investments –– even a $500K stake in a big musical could be like 3% of the total capitalization; some of these folks do just a unit (which could be as low as $25K).

Boycotting every company whose stakeholders' views didn't align with your own is essentially a choice to abstain from capitalism and live a life without technology, mass entertainment, or any branded products.

The nice thing is that in so many areas, we don't have to boycott every company because the market often affords many choices and we can opt to select those who align with our values as often as we desire. As a gay male I've somehow survived without Chick-Fil-A and Cracker Barrel, just to name two.
