i was there again as well tonight, and that is very true billy. there's no need to drag people around. i tried doing that with a friend and after the first(they do everything 3 times)time we split up. you should also try to get there closer to 7 (or 11 for midnight shows) as the performance actually starts around then.
question about the cast. how often do they switch roles? both times i went last week (last wednesday and last friday at midnight) it was the same cast but tonight (tuesday) the cast was different. some of the cast switched roles like the actress that played lady macbeth last week now had a much smaller role.

I'm not saying I know for sure, but sometimes actors play two roles in the same show.
Also, remember Hitchcock and his obsession with doubles. I watched MacBeth do a thing in Boston but only after seeing the second show did I realize it had been Banquo. And wouldn't it be so Hitchcock to make the murder and the murdered look so similar?
i had actually given thought to the doubles idea namo, and a few of the actors do look very much alike. good theory.

Also, I totally wanted to make out with Malcolm. And go out for pizza with him and stuff.

I may buy someone's tix for this tomorrow, but it's for a 7:40 pm show. Is that bad?

No, that's your entrance time. It will go until 10.

What I mean, Namo, is to ask whether that's too short a time period to do this in...and I thought it went until 11, no?

I'm pretty sure it's three hours starting from the first entrance time. The two times I saw it in Boston, I was not able to get the first entrance slot. You kind of have to let go the idea of "seeing everything" and just take in deeply what you do see. I know it's weird, but the fact is, like in a dream, there are new things to see all the time, and you never see everything because you wake up.
If you like it enough to return to the dream world, (ie buy another ticket and see it again) there will be things you see again, like a recurring dream, and dozens of things you missed the first time. It's thrilling and frustrating and completely encompassing. Like a dream!
Oh my God. The more I read threads about this show, the more I think I'm gonna have to get a ticket for my annual trip. I've also been recently obsessed with Patrick Stewart's version of Macbeth, so I think this will have to be a "must see". (That picture of the hospital in particular really reminds me of those creepy-ass weird sisters.)
The idea of following the characters is intriguing. It had better not close before I get up there!!
Saw it last night. The show is very much my kind of thing, but I'm not sure if it was actually any good. I was following people around and I don't feel like anything really happened until (what felt like) the final hour. I couldn't shake the feeling that the show's real strength was throwing around a huge bunch of money.
That being said, I am so glad that I went. It was certainly a unique experience that I will never forget.
I think what I'm gonna do is watch "Rebecca," see Theater for a New Audience's MACBETH with John Douglas Thompson on Friday night, and go to SLEEP NO MORE on Saturday.
(And for anyone interested in unaware, you'll soon also have the chance to couple SLEEP NO MORE with a more abstract MACBETH, presented by Cheek by Jowl at BAM in April.)
unfortunately, Cheek by Jowl's Mabcbeth at BAM is completely sold out. i called twice and there are no tix available. i will definitely check out the Theater for a New Audience's Macbeth tho.
Ohh... good to know, but fortunate, as I'm definitely more interested in TfaNA's MACBETH!
I can't believe Cheek by Jowl is already sold-out. Their notices were... polite, but not stellar.

Who knows, maybe one day you'll be able to sift an answer out of your subconscious!

Two more weeks in April went on sale Friday night. Of course, the site has been crashing ever since.
*sigh*. Looks like by the time I get up there it'll be closed. I'm so disappointed. Please extend, please extend, please extend!
an update on Cheek By Jowl's Macbeth at BAM: they added one performance on April 17th at 3 PM and there are tix available now. just scooped up one for myself!
This is a stupid and OCD question, but other than wearing comfortable shoes, etc., should I dress expecting it to be warm since it'll probably be crowded with a lot of moving around? Layers, perhaps?
i've never had a problem with the temperature. i usually wear jeans and a button up shirt and never think about it being too cold or hot. it does get crowded but not like in a GA pit for a sold out concert type crowded. there is usually space to move around freely even if there are large numbers of people following the same actor you are. dress according to the weather outside and if it's cold theres a coat check for $3 :]
DP
Ok cool. I was gonna bundle up since it's cold but I didn't want to get in there and be uncomfortable.

"Sleep No More" got The Unique Theatrical Experience award from the Drama Desk Awards, whatever that means. And whatever the Drama Desks are.
So, CONGRATS!
