Gosh I hope it's padding. She looked especially huge when she was running in P.E. class. On a less superficial note, I'm not too impressed either. That mom is so mean!I hate how there's an imaginary one too.

This film obviously belongs on Lifetime... with that said, it's much better than the usual junk they make. The script is actually witty, and the acting is definitely above-par. Nikki is more than adequate so far.
Well, when you put it that way... It is better than most of the other Lifetime crap.
Can I just point out, how much I love Nikki Blonsky.
She's a wonderfully talented actress, who really is a role-model to me.
The movie is good. Nikki is great. The imaginary mom pisses me off. And the real mom is also pissing me off. I loved when they all came into the office and handed in the petitions. I wanted to slap that horribly preppy bitch.
Go Nikki. :) ♥

I changed my mind... that breakdown scene in the kitchen was great.
Flattering clothing can make a huge difference, especially if you're bigger.
This movie and that "Odd Girl Out" film with Alexa Vega remind me why I hated high school. And why, though I'm 21, have reservations with teenagers. Cruel little bastards.
That scene with the throne was, whoa.
These girls, excluding Nikki, cannot act. The football stud is so wooden they could've used him as a plank for the throne.

I'm a plus-sized guy, high school was no fun, I got the sh*t for being fat that Nikki has gone through in this movie. I even had a gym teacher call me fat to my face in the middle of a gym class. I went to the principal and they told me it was her word against mine. If I hadn't had musicals and all, I'd probably be completely depressed.
I sort of hated high school, but musicals made it enjoyable and I did have a blast, but I ignored the bull**** people said and just was who I was, sure I cried my eyes out sometimes, but I didn't hate it as much as I was expected to.
I cried at the end of the movie.
God, Nikki Blonsky always gets me.
She's so darn wonderful. :)
I'm watching this now. I haven't seen Hairspray the movie, but I'm impressed with Blonsky here. She's very good.
