I saw Randy play Abel in C.O.E. He's a gr8 singer. HUGE, mature sounding voice. Don't let his young face deceive you. He has a rich and warm voice. He'll be fantastic. :)

I'm really excited about this!

Randy has had great training in musical theatre, and has had a number of credits to his name. There is really NO reason to doubt him in this role. Yes, he plays little Justin Taylor, but it's a ROLE, not a limitation. He's going to be amazing. I'm sure they'll make him look plenty Munchkin like as well. That's what makeup and costumes are for. Idina certainly isn't really green. Or is she?

Ok- how sad is this-- I spoke to some of my friends in the WICKED cast, and they DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THIS! They read about it online like all of us....

Calm down everyone; it's only for 6 weeks this summer, then the beloved Fitzgerald returns, after having his batteries recharged at the Williamstown Theater Fest. Jeesh, you'd think it was something controversial, like maybe, you know replacing Puffy in RAISIN.

Speaking from a business perspective-

Financially does it make sense to hire a "star" such as Taye Diggs, Randy Harrison or Joey McIntyre when the show is already selling out WITHOUT them? This isn't like building a show "around" a star such as Hugh Jackman. The show has proven itself that it does NOT need stunt casting to boost ticket sales. The show sells out every night and sometimes months in advance. (I've tried to get tickets in June for family coming into town---June is sold out)

Wouldn't Universal and the other producers prefer more income and a bigger recoup on their investment? Yes, while Taye was a cool name to add to the show and garnered some press, the show was ALREADY sold out when he came in so it didn't HELP ticket sales- if anything, it pissed people off that COULDN'T get in to see him.

The show sells out with Chris Fitzgerald already so will Randy sell more tickets to a show that will be already sold out? How does it financially help the show or the producers?

In the end, I would say Universal is LOOSING money because they are having to pay a larger salary to these "stars" instead of just adding more profit to their bottom line. Sure- it gets press but that press lasts a day or so. Adding cash to the bottom line has greater consequences.

I somehow doubt that Joey or Randy are being paid "star" salary, since neither one is really a star. I'm sure both are adequately talented to play these roles, but It's not like they got Clay Aiken to play Glinda.

He's too pretty for Boq. Isn't he supposed to be a little plain looking so Glinda won't want him. And just to clarify, Randy IS a twink. One needn't be gay to be a twink or a bear or any other term we like to use. It's a body type. Sorry, had to say it.

#1 - Randy is a gay icon like Michael Musto! HAHA
#2 - I doubt they are paying Joey or Randy a "big shot" salary. Wasn't Randy in an OFF-Broadway play a while back? I'm sure he didn't get a lot then.
#3 - I'd love to see Gale Harold on Broadway and Max von Essen on QAF. Great swap, huh?

I think Randy has improved SOOOO much as an actor throughout the course of QAF and I think hes going to be great. It isnt like Boq is a huge part so even if he isnt good (which i doubt highly) he doesnt have much to mess up.
