Annette at 13 was THE breakout kid out of the original 20 or so Mouseketeers that ran from about 1955-59 every weekday on ABC from about 4 to 5 pm.
Annette got twice as much fan mail as the other kids combined. When she hit puberty in a big big way, if you get my drift, she launched thousands of wet dreams. My brother and his friend used to keep their watches on California time so they'd know what Annette was doing.
Disney put her in movies, on records and into the various multi-part serials that were part of Mickey Mouse Club like Spin and Marty (which starred that delicious Tim Considine).
Later in the 60s she made a whole series of Beach Party movies usually co-starring with Frankie Avalon. They were low budget B movies that played drive-ins.
More recently she was diagnosed with MS and has pretty much dropped out of sight.
Annette was major. She was not the most talented person in the world, but she knew that and never tried to be something she wasn't which was a good girl with a huge chest. And it is difficult if impossible to find anyone who has a bad word to say about her.
"If my life weren't funny, it would just be true. And that would be unacceptable."
