(Sorry, I know this is a tedious reason to sign up for the forums, but I can't seem to find my answer anywhere!)
Anyway, I've sadly never seen the Light in the Piazza, but I am in love with the music... I'm trying to see if I should recommend it to a friend of mine (who may have an opportunity to see it) but she prefers "family friendly" musicals... Is there a sex scene in "Say it Somehow", or is it interrupted? How exactly does it play out on stage?
Thanks very much!!
There's nothing graphic in Piazza at all...In Say it Somehow Matthew Morrison half takes off his shirt...but mostly they are just singing to one another, and Victoria Clark walks in...
Its definetly PG rated...thats not to say all ages would enjoy it...in case your friend is planning on taking kids...
Theres a picture floating around somewhere of the scene, not sure where to find it though...
Yep - nothing graphic at all, just a bit of light petting on the bed. There is also a naked statue, but it's nothing that can't be seen at any art gallery...
I wouldn't call it "family friendly" only because I think young children would be bored by the adult love story. But, as mentioned, nothing graphic at all.
They get on the bed together, and he kind of takes off her top shirt, but there is a blouse on underneath. Definetly no real amount of skin, and it gets interrupted so it lasts maybe a minute.
I mean there is the whole thing they talk a lot about the brother and father being cheaters and other cheating. So in those terms not friendly, but not really in terms of just visual.

Clara is in a slip because her MOTHER takes her dress off to put her to bed, to sleep.
Fabrizio has his shirt unbuttoned and pulled back because Clara undresses him.
And Matthew is no longer in the show.
