#1Question about Billy rush

There is probably already a thread about this somewhere. Sorry for starting a new one. If I plan on rushing Billy on a Wednesday night, does anyone know about what time I should get to the theatre? Is the rush impossible? I know tickets are distributed two hours before the performance. Any recommendations? Thanks!

I went a couple Wednesdays (pre-nominations) ago, got on line at around 6:45, got a ticket at 7. People behind me also got tickets.

Thanks so much!!

And does anyone know what it's like post-nominations? Should I go around 6 just to be safe?

You might want to check with the box office in the afternoon and see if they'll even be doing it. Honestly, it changes day to day. Last week they only had rush for Wed night, and I think they ran out of it pretty quick.

the young boys playing Billy should definitely not inhale rush.

Geridith - Thanks for the warning! But is it typical in general for shows to claim to have rush on certain nights of the week and then NOT end up having it? How does that work? It seems to be published everywhere that BE has rush on Tues/Weds/Thurs. Can they just cancel it at the last minute?

Its the magic phrase "subject to availability" unfortunately. BE is not like other shows that set aside seats specifically for rush, they just will sell whatever 81.50 seats they have left to students on those particular days if they have them. With all the Tony attention tho, ticket sales are up, so student rush has become more and more sporadic. The box office people are really used to people asking now, though, they'll tell you earlier in the day if its worth it to come back later.
