Now I remember Ken. He was in the Dreamgirls movie as Mr. Max Washington.

Terrance Mann never closed Beauty and The Beast. He did however, originate the role of The Beast when the show opened. He also played the original Javert on Broadway and I believe he closed Les Miserables as Javert as well. I could be wrong about that one.
He played The Rum Tum Tugger on Broadway and was in that crazy MTV music video/commercial for the Broadway production.

Posted: 3/3/09 at 10:19pmTerrence (and Schmerg can probably correct me if I'm wrong), opened and closed Les Miz. He was also in the original cast of Scarlet Pimpernil as Chauvelin, and was the final Frank N Furter in the Rocky Horror revival. He also replaced Jason Alexander in Jerome Robbins' Broadway.

Posted: 3/3/09 at 10:23pmOff-topic: Terrence wasn't being considered for Javert but he wanted to be. So he got an audition (I think for Marius) and went in and sang one of the more somber Jacques Brel songs. And the rest is history.

UPDATE:
I have another question. On the back of the VHS box for my CATS video it says "features a new song written for the video release". What song are they talking about?
#35re: Question about CATS video recording
Posted: 4/19/09 at 3:17pmThere is no new song written for the film. I'm not sure where you're getting that from. Also, a correction from a previous post: Kenneth Ard plays Macavity on the Original Broadway Cast Recording. Scott Wise was a replacement later in the run.

Posted: 4/19/09 at 4:18pmMy VHS does says it is a "screening copy" edition; so I don't know what that means. But on the back it DOES say there is a new song. What I put in my previous post is the actual quote from the back of the box.
