Hi everybody,
I'm extremely uneducated on Broadway. My girlfriend is a huge fan of Wicked and went back in 2006, but really didn't have great seats. For her birthday, I wanted to get tickets at the Gershwin in June. From what I gather, Orchestra seats are better, but the best I can get are Row B orchestra all the way to the right. My question is, is the fact that the seats are so far to the right of the stage going to be a problem? That is, if anyone's seen the show there and knows. I really want to get good seats so she can enjoy it. Thanks in advance!

No- those are awful seats. Get something more centered. What you are talking about are PARTIAL VIEW.
if its farther back but more center it is alot better...
I sat up close and all the way to the right and though it's better than nothing, you do miss a few things like some of the characters' entrances or part of a set piece. It is better to see everything, but if that's all you can find, it isn't the worst.
Have you looked at front mezz? Those are great seats for this show.
If you get partial view seats (if that is all you can afford), go with something around row H-J or anything in that area. The seats aren't horrible. Are you able to go to the box office in person? Sometimes if you give them specific seat numbers, they might be able to pull the seats up for you if they haven't been sold. It is difficult to search next best availability through Ticketmaster. Plus you can avoid all the service charges!
According to ticketmaster, the best seats are the closest, or so it seems. So that’s what they’ll give you first. I’d recommend more towards the center a few rows back.
Any seats in the Orchestra would be great! Even if your really close, or far back, you will still enjoy the show. Have fun!

I've sat partial view Row E twice (once on each side of the front orchestra) and I loved the seats. Getting to see the actors' facial expressions is worth the fact that you'll miss a few extras hidden at the rear of the stage on the side you're on.
Thinking that I paid half of what the people immediately to my left (or right depending on which side I was on) was even better!

If it keeps showing up Row B, which many say is too close for partial view, try this.
Get those tickets open in Ticketmaster, then open up a different browser program and get another set of tickets. You'll likely get Row C this time.
Then open up a browser in another computer in the house (or at work). Row D.
Then do it a final time and get the Row E ones. They're perfect!
You've gotta do this all within a few minutes so none of the seats "time out."
Enjoy!

Do what bryanw said. I have held several tickets in the past just to get a better more centred seat a couple of rows back that isn't extreme sides.
I had row P centre and it was great

This is the problem with ticketmaster - telecharge allows you to search for the next best seats and moves you around to make a selection of a handful of seats.
I go to theater alone and prefer side aisle in Orchestra or Front Mezz (a 1 or 2 seat for the numbers). Unless you get that first shot online with ticketmaster, I CALL to get a person who then can search for better seat selections.
CALL and get a choice of seats. In that theater, I have sat in first few rows of Front Mezz for Showboat and the seat was great. I also sat in row H way off on the left and my view was fine (a little skewed as I could see the entry from the wings, but did not miss anything). I had already seen the show pre-broadway in SF first row front mezz in a smallter theater, so the hard angle in NYC was okay for me.

Saw Wicked tonight. Daughter and wife sat on row d 22 and e 22. Both said were great seats but were partially obstructed on some of play on that side. Try for seats more centered. We got tickets late and had to split up for best seats available. I sat in mezzanine. But view was fine. I feel center mezzanine would be great for all the scenery.
On ticketmaster I keep getting these seats: Orchestra, Row K, 17-19. They look fine from the seating chart, but what do you think?

Very nice theater. We had family members in several locations due to lack of availability
for date we were there. Everyone had good view and enjoyed the show much more than expected.
Seats you have picked I believe will be very nice and have a good view.
Go, sit back and enjoy.
