Question about Hair

Sorry if this has been asked before. I know how to use the search feature, but unfortunately my computer just crashed so I'm stuck using the bf's, which is land-line and thus so ridiculously slow that I want to throw something at it. Here's my q - I know Spring is when Hair should come to Broadway, but do we know an actual month? Date? Anything? Any help would be greatly appreciated and, again, I'm sorry if/that this has been asked before. As it is it took my thirty minutes just to log on (it's been so long since I actually had to log in, plus the uber-slowness) and get to typing. So yeah, thanks.

from playbill.com's casting notice

re: Question about Hair

Thank you so much dancingthru, that's awesome to know it will be previewing while I'm there. Another dumb question: previews are just like regular playdates and you can still get tickets to those dates, right? Oh, and dancingthru - I love your avatar. Oh, how I miss me some [tos].

re: Question about Hair

Mr Mormonophobic....I am SO glad you asked becuase I have been thinking the same thing for a while now...I was just on the playbill website and in the section they have on upcoming shows...HAIR is still listed as "in the works". I can't wait to see the tribe again!

re: Question about Hair

Yes, the previews are just like regular performances as far as getting tickets goes.

re: Question about Hair

YES!!! Thank you again. Now if I can just get a specific date in February that Lin will be leaving In The Heights, I can start buying tickets to show. Seriously though, February is going to be such a great month for shows - Lin's last performance, last month of Gypsy, West Side Story, Blithe Spirits, Hair...hmmm, I know there was more. Anyone want to help me out? (But then again, with the quick rate of shows closing, I have already had to cross three possible shows off my list, so it's probably a good thing I haven't bought any tickets yet).

re: Question about Hair

Oooh, and I forgot Hedda Gabler will be opening around then too. Wow - what a month.

re: Question about Hair

I have a different Hair related question,
is the cast from central park suppose to transfer for the most part?
playbill has a listing for principal and dancer calls. It was said that groff would be transferring at one time and this makes it seem as if that were not true now,

re: Question about Hair

Why would it no longer be true?

However, I haven't seen anything OFFICIAL stating any casting.

re: Question about Hair

The intentions are to move the entire cast with the transfer. So if they can do so, they will.

And Groff will be doing the production, at least as of now.

re: Question about Hair

I'm sure that his show at PH won't interfere. And Groff is just the type of guy to rehearse one show during the day and perform the other at night.

re: Question about Hair

Caren Lyn Manuel is (to my knowledge) the only member of the cast from this past summer who will not be moving with the show to Broadway.

They are currently casting for her replacement. Otherwise, the only new people they are looking for are to cover.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

re: Question about Hair

I wish that Mr Hanke was going to be Claude. Either way though, can't wait to see this show again.
