I got the OBCR of Ren as an early Hanukkah present. I love it, but I'm confused by the end. Did Mimi die or not? I haven't seen the show, btw.
it's a miracle! she comes back to life!!! ahhhh
yaay for MiMi not dying
I would have been so depressed if she did lol
So she comes bac to life? That's a cop-out ending, if you ask me.
If you listen to the lyrics it's not a cop-out ending. And no, it's not like she dies then magically comes back to life and lives forever. It's implied that she only lives a few months longer - you know she's going to die anyway.

"I was in a tunnel...headed for this warm, white light. and i swear. angel was there. and she looked good. and she said "turn around, girlfriend, and listen to that boy's song!""
ah how is it a cop-ending? (not attacking you btw just wondering what you saw in it that made you think that)
Personally,I thought it was kinda sweet how it ended and all, and yeah you know she's gonna die anyway but it was a nice ending.
Elphaba, I don't really like Daphne's "second coming" on the OBCR, and I felt the same way, until I saw the show. Even though it's the same lyrics, it just makes more sense when you see it live. Not to get into the whole "Should Mimi have died?" debate, but in a nutshell, the story is about hope, and really, it's about life and optimism in the face of death and despair, so Mimi living is actually the crux of the show.
Tiff you can be my BWW girlfriend. But your avatar has to change.
Aww, Guido's already my BWW boyfriend, but can you be my Will Truman?
And what's wrong with my avatar? Are you saying you don't like my self-portrait? You callin' me ugly, cracka?!
Who are you callin "cracka," you're white now, MJ.
Good points, Tiff. She will die eventually because she has AIDS.
It's such a brilliant and moving show that I don't quite know what to make of it.
Really, really, really, Elphaba, you haven't experienced Rent until you've seen it. I listened to the OBCR for years and I didn't see it *ahem* (in person) for the first time until this spring, and I have a whole new understanding and appreciation for the performances and the messages in the show. It's already fantastic as a CR. It's mind-blowing in person (as long as you see it with a good cast - like the current tour.)
The current cast on Broadway is actually the second best I've ever seen in all my 495839483948395 times seeing it on Bway. Drew Lachey is actually excellent.
I wish I could've seen the OBC. I'm glad most of them are in the movie.
Who does Drew play? I'm assuming it's Mark or Roger.
Mark. A buff Mark. Mixed feelings. My RENThead values lead me one way, and my hormones as a hetero girl lead me another...
I haven't seen the current-est cast yet, but the one I saw in the spring was a disappointment. (I didn't see Jeremy as Roger though - it was Seb in that day.)

jeremy actually wasn't bad. and he was nice too... i got a picture/autograph with drew & jeremy
yeah whats up with having a totall buff Mark? I mean when i first saw posters and Ads for Drew Lachey in Rent, I figured he would be playing Roger cuz of the whole off-with-the-shirt-tatoo-bad boy thing
Drew looks nothing like that on stage. It's like they took Nick's body with Drew's head. Drew does not look buff in person - at least with that sweater on.

Drew Lachey...I'd have to go with Tiff there. Have no chance of seeing the show, but the image...buff Mark...*shakes head*
Drew is actually very, very, very good. He's better than other Mark's I've seen - Matt Caplan, Joey Fatone to name a few. He's excellent.
I was not a fan of Matt Caplan at all. I had high hopes and I was really disappointed.

Ah, now Joey, that was wrong. Saw the Thanksgiving parade perfomance, I know it was only a snippet, but it was What You Own. ACK! Awful.
