Ok so I went to the matinee of Little Women and I recieved a playbill that was all in black with a white background. I had a special certificate for a free little women poster or a signed playbill (sutton and Maureen's sigs).
I noticed when I got to the hotel taht the Signed one was all in color.
When looking at the opening night playbills on playbill.com I notice all have the opening night sticker thing on them-HOWEVER the little women one doesn't and is in color.
go here for the page http://www.playbillstore.com/opnigplayusa.html
Does this mean I have a signed opening night playbill?
thanks guys!

That's interesting. Don't know. It's pretty cool though. I went for the poster.

At the theater, they don't have the stickers. They just have the Opening Night Date over the title page. They're also offered about a week in advance of the opening. (I got a DRS Opening Night Playbill on Feb 23, it opened on March 3.)
Not sure if I get your question, but when I went to Little Women during previews, I got a color playbill, so I don't think your getting a color one neccessarily means it is from opening night.
I got the playbill when I saw Little Women, but I should've gotten the poster. I ended up going to the stage door, so I had two signed playbills. I say "had" because my housekeeper threw my playbills away or stole them. I'm erally pissed off.
It's not that stickers are NEVER put on playbills in the theatre, they are ONLY if the producer wants to pay the extra money for the stickers. Very very few shows actually do stickers - last year, NEVER GONNA DANCE was the only show to use stickers. This season, as far as I'm aware, DEMOCRACY is the only show to use stickers as well. It's all up to the producer.
I went to The Woman in White the saturday matinee show, it opened on thursday, and still got an opening night playbill. They'll never have the stickers, but on the title page up at the top it will Opening Night followed by the date.

On the page, what's up with the Julius Casear playbill. That's a horrible drawing of Denzel, jeez.
WOW...I saw this thread and was like "I posted a topic with that same name a while back"....lmao..and it WAS mine...
I'm not sure if your Playbill is opening night just because it's in color, if that's what your saying. Most opening night Playbills only have stickers when they're bought on www.playbill.com. The only way you can tell if it's an opening night Playbill is that on the title page at the top it says the opening date and theater.
I dunno, but if it is an Openimg Night one sell that baby on ebay. I want to get a hold of some Color Purple Opening night Playbills, because I just sold a regular one on ebay for 6 bucks. I know, how tacky of me, but if someone wants to buy it, who am I to stop them?
No!!! I love my Sutton and Maureen signed playbill :)
and you guys really don't have to answer..this thread is from March...lol
