I think I may be going this week and was curious as to how the audience have been of late. Since they are markably smaller crowds have they been less responsive during the show in terms of laughing/applauding/reactions to certain revelations etc?
And has the theater really felt like it was less than 50% filled? When I saw STORY OF MY LIFE, apparently the theater had an average percentage of attendance around 35-40% but the orchestra looked pretty full to me...this has happened before as well.
I know this sounds like a weird question but I'll be going to see it (if I do go) with someone who hasn't seen the show before. And for me, both times I saw it, the audience's reactions/responses were so much a part of the experience of the show itself if that makes any sense.
Thanks!

I just saw it, and the audience was smaller. But I didn't feel that it detracted from the piece. People still reacted a lot. I still loved it.
Oh, good! Anyone else go lately?
Going on Saturday...but I'm bringing a hundred kids...very excited.

I just saw August tonight and I know the Saturday eve show is the best selling of the week, and the crowd was VERY receptive and enthusiastic. Still, there were a good 7 or 8 completely empty rows in the mezzanine.
Didn't want to start a whole thread for this:

it's creepy how similar they all look to their OBC counterparts.

Just saw the Wednesday matinee. The theater was about half full, but the audience loved the show and embraced the performers. It is still in great shape and hopefully will continue to attract bigger audiences as Spring arrives in NYC. Estelle Parsons was simply amazing and it's always great to watch Liz Ashley in a play, she is marvelous; as a matter of fact the whole cast was terrific.
I'm going for the first time this Friday. Very much looking forward to it. Hope it's as good as everyone says.
