Hi all:

I am a cast member of a wonderful, incredible show starring Ted Neeley, John Hurt, Bradley Dean, Amanda McBroom and the Bolshoi Ballet called "Rasputin the Musical."

Please check out the show on the web at

www.rasputinthe musical.com.

Our CD is finalized and you can purchase it online. The show is aiming for Broadway but the production team has not raised enough money yet so I am trying to spread the word.

So, log on and take a listen. It truly is an INCREDIBLE show.

Let me know how you like it!

xoxo

The link did not work for me but I'll do more searching.
What part of the Bolshoi Ballet is participating in this show?

The Bolshoi takes part in 2 authentic russian folk numbers. The show is about Gregor Rasputin and the murder of the family by Prince Yusapov (Bradley Dean...WHO IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!.

The team was speaking with Barishikov first for choreography but decided to go with the Bolshoi instead.

try the link again or type it into your browser.

I have been a member of the show since the inception and I believe in it so strongly.

I guess the Bolshoi can spare some of their three hundred dancers for this. :)

Having been in the cellar (of the Yusupov Palace in Petersburg) where Rasputin was poisoned, of course I am interested. I've found the beautiful website but it froze my gorgeous Powerbook G4, so I'll have to check it out later.

No problem selling me on the story and if some Bolshoi dancers are involved that's a plus. How is the music Di2? What is your part in this musical?

Is this the same Rasputin that ran for a short time in Sydney, Australia starring Jon English? Cause if so, this show is awesomeness!!

sorry it locked you up. It shouldn't have. I am actually listening to the 15 minute music montage they put together. It's weird. I have never heard it before. Michael (Michael Rapp-composer/lyricist)did a great job editing.

I play the "prostitute" and I have a long scene with Teddie and Bradley. It's a very sexy part and it's fun to whisper dirty things in "Jesus'" ear.

hahahahaha..

No worries Di2. I'll try it this afternoon or this evening.
Congrats to you and I hope you get to Broadway!

No, this sounds like a completely different show from the Australian musical, which was directed by Stephen Hopkins, a film maker who went on to fame as the director/creator of the tv series "24". He'd never directed for theatre before, let alone a major musical, and although it had a huge amount of money thrown at it, the show was a monumental turkey despite endless doctoring by other scriptwriters and directors (which continued right up to the final week when the principals flatly refused to learn or rehearse any more material.) I'm sure this new version will enjoy a longer, happier life!

Di2, have you read Yusupov's autobio - "Lost Slendour"?

I love the story (not in his autobio) about baby Felix asking people in the park as his Nanny strolled him: "Isn't baby beautiful?"

We are trying...

The producers have raised abouot 3 million dollars but it is still not enough.

Pass the word along and hopefully we can get some more investors involved. We have been working on the show for 4 years now and it seems like a ridiculously long time but we remain hopeful as it took "Rent" 10 years to get to Broadway!

Thanks for posting the information and web site for the show. The excerpts were intriguing and I just order the 3 cd set.

The music excerpt sounds really good. I've always loved Russia's history. I also have a cast recording from London's "Killing Rasputin", which I think is good but still needed a lot of work. This one sounds much better.

How many Rasputin musicals are out there? Three mentioned here and there was a reading of one earlier this year in NYC with Marty Vidnovic and Lynne Winterstellar.

Maryheart...

YEAH!!! Thank you for buying the CD..It's awesome. True, there have been a ton of Rasputin shows out there but none like ours. We have grammy winners and academy award winners in ours and it is fantastic.

Keep passing the word. It really deserves to be seen!

I am off on vacation now....YEAH me!!

8 days in the Caribbean.

Enjoy your weekends!

Is there only those few people who bios on the website in the show or is a chorus in there? Are the 4 sisters in it? It sounds like an amazing show. I hope it comes to Broadway or goes on tour.

Oh, it's a much bigger show than shown on the website. It's a 3-CD set. It's very interesting. A few good hits on there. I mapped out my own plan for a production once, including setting Yusupov's "Tell Me If You Think I'm Russian" number in a seedy St. Petersburg bar called BIG GAY PETROV'S. Too bad my idea won't ever happen; could probably work in community theatre, though.
