"27 RENT WARNER BROS. 16,982"
This is for 32.29% of this weeks sales. I believe that 100% of the numbers will be in Tuesday or Wednesday. It should go to sell around 52,500 copies this week.
EDIT -------------------------------------------------------
"37 RENT WARNER BROS. 48,061"
The CD sold 48,061 copies to be at number 37 for the week that ended on 11/28.

Excellent News.
Good sign. And the big music selling companies haven't report yet.
Well #27 isn't the official number.
I have followed HITS DAILY DOUBLE for years now. Their final numbers are in late Tuesday afternoon.
The numbers fluctuate a lot over monday and tuesday.

Also, keep in mind that the Hits Daily Double numbers are just an estimate and often differ from the official Soundscan figures by thousands of copies. Someone on a pop music board I moderate has access to a lot of Soundscan data, so I'll definitely ask him for the official numbers on Wednesday morning.
I bought it the day after I saw the Movie (well 2 days bc Thanksgiving happened). I am hopeful most fans do as well.
The soundtrack is #1 on i-Tunes music store. The selections CD is #7.
on itunes top 100 songs, seasons of love, light my candle, out tonight, la vie boheme, and another day are all up there
also on the top 100 soundtracks, the movie is #1, the obc is #4, and the obc highlights is #12
Yeah for RENT! I hope the movie continues to do well. I'm seeing it again on Thursday!

BUMP. Final totals for the week are in.
The official Soundscan figures:
127 47 RENT SOUNDTRACK 36411 240 10702 47167
138 57 RENT (2CD) SOUNDTRACK 29729 206 9709 90227
Yesterday on itunes the Rent soundtrack was #1, and Selections from Rent (movie) was #7.
I was pleased.
I love the song and have noticed that the majority of the folks that don't like it aren't fond of gospel in the first place. I also think it'a a weak song for Rosario, Anthony and Jesse , but that it showcased Tracie, Wilson., Idina, Adam and even Taye. To hear them just sing out of character was such a treat, and everyone I know that has heard it, and that's no small number, loves it too.
{EDIT}I must be tired b/c I meant to post this on the Love Heals thread lol.
