I just saw "Bewitched" tonight and thought it was the same trailer. But wow was it amazing to see the trailer on the big screen.

If anything, they may have inserted a random split second of a new scene or something. But it seemed the same to me.

Ann's diss to midtowngym is funny, and sad at the same time... because Seasons of Love was not "obviously" just filmed in a stage lineup for this trailer. Chbosky's screenplay (from which Columbus still borrowed) had the characters singing the song on the stage. Moreover, Anthony Rapp said that Chris Columbus had come up with a "brilliant" idea for uniting the worlds of stage and film through the opening. We later learned that Seasons of Love would open the film...

The trailer that was "accidentally" released on the net before it's premiere on AOL has a "generic" looking shot of NYC, maybe looking up 8th Ave, no distinct landmarks. I have a copy of the trailer (labeled Trailer #2) on DVD from a marketing firm and the beginning of the clip has the sun rising over NYC and the Empire State is in the shot. All other clips remain the same.

They do shorten Season's of Love, listen to the beginning and some in the middle. I just edited the trailer with the OBC recording and had to fill in about 30 or so seconds.

"maybe our mistakes are what make our fate. Without them, what would shape our lives? Perhaps if we never veered off course, we wouldn't fall in love, or have babies, or be who we are. After all, seasons change. So do cities. People come into your life and people go. But it's comforting to know the ones you love are always in your heart. And if you're very lucky, a plane ride away" -sex and the city

Sad? Why? Because it isn't being done like that anymore.
I read somewhere (I forgot where) that most of Chbosky's work went unused. Is that what you meant?

The trailer shown just before Bewitched Friday night seemed identical to the one I have watched online. And as someone else already said, I have watched it WAY too many times. watch the beginning...

I, too, have watched it several times. There are a couple shots that are different.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."
