Its time to play the music...
It's time to light the lights...
It's time to get things started on the most sensational, inspirational, celebrational (and most importantly) Muppet-ational Broadway event of this holiday season, because according to a very solid source, The Muppets may finally be playing the Broadhurst Theatre for a holiday show this year...How do we feel about this everybody???

The sweaty one is not a solid source

The problem is they’re collecting info from sources who don’t always have all the facts straight, AND sometimes plans do change. They are often right, at least in the moment that they are reporting. (I have no doubt Cabaret was pitching hard to people like Miley and Sabrina, for example.)
The bizarre part about S.O.’s claim here is that the Muppets would only be playing Broadway for about two weeks around Christmas, which is too short to make any sort of financial impact even for Disney. Which makes me think the objective of the Broadway run is to film a special.
But let’s see what happens…
