RENT question

RENT question#0

Allright, one more thread. When Benny is involved with Mimi at the end of the movie, is he still married to Allison. I feel like this was addressed in the show, but I can't remember. In addition, what are the continued Muffy-Allison jokes?

Benny and Mimi were having an affair. The scene, presumebly, with Allison finding out was cut.

they call allison muffy because its one of those stereotypical rich foofy foofy names....thats why when they go "why did muffy..." and benny is like "ALLISON" its basically shoving in his face that his wife is filled with money....lol

"I looooove being on the road!!! I got to drive up here in a van with all the guyyys...i wake up at 1 in the afternoon...i played poker with them last niiight its so much fun! its when my dark side comes out...then i go home and im like "LETS HAVE BABIES!!!!"-idina menzel <3 Samantha

In the play at the end Roger and Mark discuss that because Allison found out about Benny and Mimi's affair that he was pulled out of the E Village location development, hence he won't be a problem anymore, its alluded that Tom Collins told Allison about the affair.

re: the Muffy thing...though it was pretty much already covered...Alison (Allison?) is from Westport, CT, which is in Fairfield County...NOTORIOUS for rich, snotty, über-preppy folks (I know, I live there! haha) Muffy is a old-school preppy nickname...a la Bitsy, Bunny, Tiffy, and Corkie for girls, or Skip, Chip, Bif, or Trip for boys (this coming from a book called the "Official Preppy Handbook" given to me oh so many years ago as a gag gift...it actually says "Look Muffy, a book for us." on the cover!)
