hehe well, I dislike open calls a lot but, that's part of my career choice. I will just try. Each audition to me is 1 more chance to perform even for a minute. I just don't want to sing "out here on my own" again ha!

Anyway, that means you'd be up for the part of Joanne, Mimi or Maureen. (Or ensemble.) What race are you?

i have a bunch of stuff in my room. I just have to clean up a bit hehe.. i kind of shoved everything under my bed. so I will look through everything and find something fun. I really dont want to do something from the show. anyway, if anyone else is going who is female PM me. I'd love to meet up.

I think the Networks site said "no show tunes", so...well..TMOLM might not be the best choice. But "At Last" is fantastic (if overdone). Can't go wrong with standards, right??

Hmmm...it says to prepare 16 bars of something from the show, so I guess TMOLM might not be too bad, especially if they are typing. She was also thinking of "Killing me Softly".

keep in mind it should be the best 16 bars that shows off you , and something you know you can do with the piano.

Oh whoops, does it say 16 bars from the show? My bad. I would say TMOLM then, since it's obviously compatible with the piano. I would choose At Last over Killing Me Softly (imho, it shows more range, but what do I know).

Yeah, she'll probably do TMOLM. Her older sister was called back 3 times for the Broadway cast back in the late 90's when the show first came to Broadway, but she didn't make it. She was scouted at a local theatre by TC. She said you have to belt the hell out of the songs. They want to hear you belt over and over and over again. As a trained singer, she went in sounding "too trained" and they wanted her to roughen it up.

That's f-ing awesome! Is the older sister going to go for it again? If belting/beating the SH*T outta the song is the goal, OTM might be good.

i actually went to an open call for FAME the musical a dance call dont ask me why... i obviously wasnt kept but, saw RENT was holding EPAs across the hall..I went in @ 3 and asked the moderator lady if there was anyway I could be seen. She said wait a minute , and went to ask. She came back and told me to stay and I'd be seen in 10 minutes. I went in, sang 32 bars actually and she said thank you very much. A Year later , this past may, i was called back for a replacement in the bway company for maureen. There was 10 of us there. I wasn't called back again but, the audition was music they had us pick up from telsey. "take me or leave me". It was shocking to me but, very fun. But, barring that they might hear TMOLM 1000 times that day, I will sing something else. Best of luck everyone!!!!
