I saw this last night and it saddened me. I had the pleasure to meet him twice and he was a very warm and personable soul - RIP

One of his obits noted that he did more than 1,000 performances each in Annie, Les Mis, Beauty and the Beast, and The Producers (between Broadway and touring companies). That's a pretty astonishing stat nowadays.

The New Amsterdam marquee will be dimming it’s lights in his honor tonight.

(It really should be all of the Broadway theatres....)

Honestly what does it take to get lights dimmed now if actual career long Broadway actors and multiple Tony nominees and winners (Gary and Jan Maxwell) don't get the honor??
