Casey Nicholaw will direct and choreograph the stage musical version of the aforementioned 1964 Rat Pack movie, written for the stage by Peter Ackerman.
The $15 million musical, with songs by Sammy Cahn and James Van Heusen, costumes by Gregg Barnes, and lighting by Natasha Katz will open in 2010.
The plot, essentially, is different. Read on.

I can see this being a big hit. It should preview in Chicago.
But was does this mean for the The Night They Raided Minsky's musical that Casey Nicholaw is also supposed to direct and choreograph? If it opened as they had been planning in LA in 2009, it would come to Broadway in the same season as Robin and the 7 Hoods, right? Is Nicholaw still involved? I hope this doesn't slow Minksy's road to Broadway. The Rat Pack on stage could be a big hit with audiences, but Minsky's interests me more. I especially want to see Bob Martin, Charles Strouse and Beth Leavel together on that....I can easily do without Nicholaw.
The movie was good fun. Doubt they will be able to better it with the cast the movie had but we shall see.
