It basically said Ellen Page raped James Barbour and blamed the film industry for it turning James into a villain for being abused by a pre teen girl who said she was a woman in her late 60's making a film about nursing home abuse to turn on the 40 something year old actor who is (in his own words) a "Granny Chaser", but when the girl took off the mask during the act and revealed her true age it was already too late and the trauma of that is what caused her to yell rabies, or something like that.

It certainly dosn't help Barbour's case to have whackjobs like BroadwayBabe(hot name) on his side.
Isn't it scarey that Babe knows what the victim looks like, her exact birthdate, and has followed her carreer?

Humm...perhaps I have hit a nerve here? Now some are trying to descredit me by saying I am crazy...? I think perhaps a couple of you have opened yourselves with your replies...connection to the girl, perhaps?

No, CPD, it is not "scarey". Actually I think you mean scary You do know this woman has an IMBb, right?

Anyway, for those who don't know here, her name was leaked out way back, and pretty much everyone in the Theater world in NY (and some outside) knows who she is. I try to do my research before I speak, and I did that waayyy back in 2008. Besides that, almost not a couple of months passed by that she got another "job", and was giving "interviews". Hard to overlook, don't you think?
And Catalano, your revival comment was funny, but your last post was not. We are talking about someone's life being messed up due to this incident. Get a grip.

Oh, and check this out: Without having done anything, she "suddenly" got her first job...right after the accusation was made. That right there seems a bit suspicious to me and anyone with a brain.

I'm surprised more people don't use false claims of statutory rape to get a leg up in the business, since I keep reading on BWW how that's a sure-fire way to ignite a career.

Also, you probably shouldn't complain about people misspelling scary when you write nonsense things like "almost not a couple of months."

Again, Barbour admitted it and got off easy. If his life is complicated by this following him around, maybe he should look for a job outside of show business.

Well... I'm assuming she, like, auditioned. Just because A follows B doesn't mean A caused B.

Why do people use quotes so strangely, like putting them around "jobs" and "interviews."

Why do some women feel so compelled to defend a 35 year old man who orally sodomized a fifteen year old?

I'll probably get more jail time for misspelling that the guy who had sex with a child.
I have worked 40 years in the professional theatre in NYC and I have never heard the victim's name. You would have to search for it.
and I am not her friend, no nerve hit here.

First, I don't know how some of you have so much time to post so much on this board. I don't have that luxury. If my "long"(I do hope there are people on here who know what quotation marks are used for. I do, so I use them)post was not written well, perhaps it was because I was rushing through it. Yes, I have to apologize for not having the amount of time some of you seem to have. Sorry, but I have a life to live, so condenm me for it.
Phyllys, do not turn my words around. What I said was that Barbour chooses his material, and he has what it takes for musical Theater. So why is it contrary to artistic choice to elect to do what he wants in musical Theater? After all, this is where he can use his talents best. I NEVER said that pay was the "most" important!
For the sake of your eyes and reading capabilities, I will now start another post.

Quotation marks are for marking a quote, so it doesn't seem like YOU "know what quotation marks are used for." I do, as evidenced by the previous sentence. I think that you are confusing "quotes" with italics. Or maybe bolding?

As for having the time to post, I guess it just isn't as taxing for some of us as it is for you, so we don't need to block off sections of time for it or announce that another post is forthcoming. It doesn't take most of us four days to come up with a weak, confusing response about how we know how to use quotations marks (when we so so clearly don't), but whateves. You are clearly the coolest, bwaybabe2, with your busy and exciting life of claiming admitted child sodomizers were framed.
What a great way to spend your precious time.

CPD, I am glad to hear no nerve was hit. However, being in the Theatre in NYC for 40 years, I am sure you must have had more than one encounter with the actor, so I hope there is no bad blood between you? Even if it is just not liking his guts. The name...do you not mingle with yourger actors? Because they pretty much know of her. And for your info, I was reading a thread where they mentioned her name, and that is when I came to know of her, and started my research. How could I look it up if I had no idea who it was? I don't live in NY, sir.



And how am I trying to help Barbour's case? Sadly, this case is tried and done, Barbour has gone to jail, apparently appologized, so, what else is there? Would you like to cut off his head a la ATOTC? Wait, you want him to get out of the business, and that way he won't be festered with this, right? Well, that is exactly why I think this is still going on. I am sure that shaming the actor to a jail sentence was NOT the ultimate goal. I feel that someone out there just wants to pull him right out of the business altogether. And they have not been sucessful so far. I have not doubt that tipping a radio station or whatever about "his case" is part of the continuing harrassment they want him to endure until he might decide to quit altogether. And I sure hope he does not!

Let's see, I don't see Clinton advocates admitting that he used our trust to violate the highest office in the nation, and not only get away with this, but remain very successful and visible in the press...AND respected! And I don't hear anyone talking about Rob Lowe's case(ACTUAL sex with minor). Barbour's case was Kindergarten compared to Lowe's. Yet nobody is calling radio stations to deprive Lowe of work.

Also, what Bill Clinton did wasn't really the same. He may have abused his power (so okay, in that way it IS the same), but Monica was of legal age the whole time. I'm not sure how he violated my or our or anyone's trust with that, but I'm not the one who brought him up.

No one here has said James Barbour shouldn't get work. They just haven't. Take that up with the radio station in California if that's your issue.

Rob Lowe is an interesting parallel, though. I was thinking about him the other day. Wasn't his case different, though? Didn't he meet the girl in a bar and think she was of legal age? To this day, I'm pretty sure he maintains he didn't know the girl was underage which again, makes his case different from Barbour's because Barbour has admitted he knew she was 15. And saw her more than once, knowing she was 15 the whole time. Or, like you say, almost 16.

Actually wasn't Lowe's girl 16? Were't you just arguing that if she'd already been 16 it would have been okay?



And why is "his case" in quotes? Why?
