It looks like RABBIT HOLE, the MTC hit at Broadway's Biltmore Theatre, is extending 2 weeks through April 2!

I personally think this is fantastic news. I adored the play back when I saw the first preview and Ben Brantley in the NY TIME wrote the play and its entire ensemble a virtual love letter with his review. Cynthia Nixon & especially Tyne Daly, in my eyes turn in 2 of the best female performances of the season and Mary Catherine Garrison, John Slattery, and John Gallegher Jr. are all versitle and talented in each of their juicy roles.

It looks like ticket prices went up $10 as well. But compared to what other Broadway plays are asking...$90 per ticket for such an exciting work, in my eyes, is well worth it! I hope to see it again and I hope those on this board who haven't do as well.

Great news! I loved it. Eventually, I'll actually post something of substance about it. re: Rabbit Hole EXTENDS!

What will this mean for Shining City? I have tickets for the first week of previews. Will it be pushed back?

Great news! It is a brilliant play. I love his work.
All of it. I wish they would bring back Fuddy Meers.
Can we spread David Lindsay Abaire love?
He is one of my favorite new playwrights.

MyManCape...here is the article from Playbill.com. Looks like it'll all depend on just how well RABBIT HOLE does indeed do depending on whether or not Rabbit Hole continues at the Biltmore/transfers/or closes up shop. Either way, I wish it much success - its THAT GOOD!

Yay. I'll be seeing it in March when I'm home for spring break. Can't wait. Does the cast come out to sign after matinees? Updated On: 2/8/06 at 01:11 AM

I saw last Wednesday's matinee, and Cynthia Nixon, John Gallagher Jr. and Mary Catherine Garrison all came out and signed/took pictures. Tyne Daly and John Slattery did not come out. Cynthia was an absolute sweetheart, as was Mary Catherine. John was extremely grateful and spoke with a couple of us about the play and how exciting it is to make his Broadway debut.

muscle - i have sat pretty much everywhere in that theatre, and I havent found a bad seat yet. when they redid the space, I believe they took many logistics into effect so each seat would be comfortable and extremely visable of the stage. I remember reading an article about it in the Times a year or so ago.

Thanks for the cast signing info. Does anyone know if Tyne and John Slattery sign after the evening shows, or do they just skip the whole thing entirely?

I'm so glad the play's run is extended. (Even though my chances of getting to NYC to see it are still slim to none.)

Does anyone know why Tyne Daly seems to be avoiding the spotlight in all the publicity surrounding Rabbit Hole? In the interviews and photo ops from opening night, all the cast except her was included. Here's a quote from an article at Broadway.com: "And while Rabbit Hole player Tyne Daly shied away from all cameras, everyone else--including the show's stars Cynthia Nixon, John Slattery, Mary Catherine Garrison and John Gallagher Jr.--happily struck a pose for Broadway.com. Really, Tyne… there's nothing to it! Check it out." (Link to the article and photos: http://www.broadway.com/gen/Buzz_Photo_Op.aspx?ci=524784

Was she publicity shy when she performed as Mama Rose in Gypsy (back in the late 80's)?

She was extremely kind to me when I met her after a performance in late January. My mother was with me--I bought the tickets for her because she's a HUGE Tyne fan from back in the Cagney and Lacey days, and she stayed and chatted with us as well as a few other people. She expressed how much she loved the play, and how blessed she was to be performing etc. She didn't seem shy at all...but I did notice the lack of pictures, quotes etc. of her on the broadway sites.
