Also the walnut street theatre in Philadelphia did the show in 2000 - I really liked the production.
Also there was also a aids day production in 2006 w Carolee Carmello and Eden Espinosa.

There was also a student production I saw at Yale probably mid to late 90s.
Going to see this in the next couple of weeks. Looking forward to seeing it.

what I find interesting is that the original, prior to its run that lasted less than a week on bwy, back in 86 was for a time, arguably, the most highly anticipated show of the 80's... for various reasons...
though this now transformed rework is closer to meeting those once epic expectations, the buzz is well kept...
The score has imo opinion always held its own w Les Mis, King and I, Gypsy, West Side Story, Fiddler etc) - but now has a book that can hold its own at this time of libretto renaissance.
Old guard, new show.
This could get interesting.

I know The Minutes is probably going to try and take it...but with M. Butterfly now closing and the timing of the Riedel article...is this trying to position for the Cort?

Any news on this? No Broadway producers wanted to take a chance on it this season?

Right!? Imagine if this was revived this season... it would have been a major contender across the board. I'm surprised no one saw what a great opportunity it would have been, especially with the climate of this past year.
Here's hoping someone catches on and produces it soon!
