Raise Your Fists If You're Miserable

The main board is flooded with negative threads solely for the purpose of being negative posted by what seems to be very unhappy little children who haven't gotten their way.
Just because the Tony voters happened to have different opinions than you, there is no reason to post whiny, bratty little rants with no constructive purpose whatsoever.
There is one SA love thread. How about confining your deep hatred to only one thread, and perhaps a therapist session or two?

Haha so true!
Honestly can't we just have a Spring Awakening Love Thread and a Spring Awakening Hate Thread?
Instead of of 234789 SA hate threads,
237489 "Spring Awakening didn't deserve (fill in Tony here)" threads,
234789 "Letter To Spring Awakening" threads,
and then...782947398 "Spring Awakening is over-rated" threads.
It's getting kind of old.

It's the annual Tony backlash. Why does this surprise everyone every year? Especially those who have been around long enough to have experienced it a couple of times.
It will never EVER EVER change, so just go with the flow or you'll just give yourself an ulcer. Whatever show wins Best Musical will be thrashed, gutted, kicked around and spit upon hundreds of times a day until the popular crowd get bored and find a new "unworthy" show to pick on.

Posted: 6/12/07 at 11:17amI'm upset about one of the awards (go on, guess which). I don't think there's anything wrong with being upset, but what I do think is silly is incessantly going on about how upset you are on a public board as if it's going to do something. That loss broke my heart, but I've been relatively quiet about it -- I'm almost embarassed for the people who feel the need to like, write these open letters to the powers that be and whatever. I'll be in the audience at Company tonight -- not ranting and bitching online. You keep loving what you love; you support "your" show more than ever, and you move on.

Posted: 6/12/07 at 11:20amI realize Spring Awakening is going to continue to be bashed until people finally get bored of it, but can't they keep it to a couple of threads instead of the hundreds that are popping up by the minute?

But posts like this will just keep igniting more negativity.
This always happens each year. It's expected.
It's just very discouraging to fans of a certain show to see another show win awards many feel it didn't deserve, and then the producers/creators acting like all pompous assholes.

Fact for the day! 10% of people have an extra "accessory" spleen. Some people have more than one! If ten people post on a thread here on BWW, odds are good that one of them has more than one spleen!
... some days are slower than others...

Posted: 6/12/07 at 12:32pmIn all honesty, these boards have been totally unenjoyable the last few days--- between the Tonys and the Fantasia fights, its getting ridiculous. Theatre is supposed to be an escape from everyday misery !

I haven't been reading much, on purpose of course.
I can't help but thinking there are more important thing in life than bickering about a silly award.

There are---- many things-- regardless of the winners or "losers", these people are all getting to doing something that they love for a living.
And we as theater-goers are getting to enjoy them doing it !

i was feeling inspired.
i was also about to miss my train so couldn't finish it. i think the small but perfectly formed approach worked tho.

I would say that the board moves fast after any type of awards show this popular in Theater, so many don't take the time to read back, they just start a thread, not realizing, it was already there.
Add to that, some not recognizing SA as Spring Awakening or using brief titles that are difficult to decipher.
I enjoy the debate. Some can't take it and some simply avoid it because it brings them stress. Isn't this thread simply a rant about rants? :)
