Ramona Keller is indeed the diamond of Brooklyn.
So when will she be cast in a decent show?
I say Dreamgirls has a new star.

I thought you liked Caroline, Corine. She's being wasted now, but don't act like she's never had decent material to work with.
I loved her in Caroline. I want to see her in Dreamgirls as Effie.
She would bring down the house! ![]()

Lorell maybe. Not Effie.

I'm not sure if I'm picking her voice out correctly in the Radio, but she doesn't strike me as an Effie, either.

She's the one with the high belt and pinched timbre -- Lorrell all the way (she'd kill "Ain't No Party").

Oh, does she have the high solo bits in "Salty Teardrops"? My iPod is broken right now but I think I remember. Updated On: 10/22/04 at 12:40 AM

Now I wanna listen to Caroline for the *cough* 32nd time...

Plum, maybe if you bought the CD instead of illegally downloading the songs you wouldn't have to cry and you could listen to it.
I agree with Lorrell, Effie is not right for Ramona.

Actually, I do own the CD. But I leave my CD collection in my parents' house because there isn't room for them all here in the dorm. I'm very much against illegal music downloads, so please don't presume to lecture me on that topic. Thanks.
ETA: Besides, haven't you ever heard of the iTunes Music Store?

Ah, Ramona--she was like a baby Patti La Belle. She was great, but to me the diamond was Cleavant Derricks. His voice touched me in the way Sam Cooke's does. I loved him. On the night I went, he and Ramona got the most applause.
I saw Ramona play Lorrell in the Seattle production of Dreamgirls with Frenchie Davis. She was pretty damn good. Her voice is just amazing. The production didn't really work though, because Effie needs to have the most powerful voice on stage, but that honor was obviously Ramona's.

from reading the reviews it looks like she stole the spot light from right under eden. good for her!!! :)
She and Karen Olivo were my favorites in the show. And so glad I got to see her in Caroline.
