We haven't done this in a while.
Yazbek recently said on Twitter that the Women on the Verge overture is his favorite out the five. Although it's cut from the final version of the show, he said he would allow it to be done "if someone really wants to do it" someday.
In my opinion, he creates the best overtures currently on Broadway. How would you rank them in terms of your enjoyment?
1. Women on the Verge (Mysterious, dramatic, grand sounding, but maybe too dark to open the show?Musically, it's my favorite)
2. The Full Monty (Upbeat, fun, and the perfect opening of a great show)
3. The Band's Visit (Perfectly sets the mood/tone of the show, does the opposite of the Verge overture)
4. Tootsie (His most traditional overture yet! I love the big Broadway sound)
5. Dirty Rotten Scoundels (There's nothing quite wrong with it. Maybe a little too repetitive? Fun/enjoyable but I'm currently putting it in last place)

The Full Monty all the way. It's a perfect 2000s-era late night show theme. The minute that piano riff starts, I can hear the announcer's voice in my head. "It's the Late Late Show, with Jane Lynch! On tonight's show, Hayden Panettiere, David Sedaris and Kumail Nanjiana, plus musical guest Bleachers! I'm Jim Rash, now give it up for JAAANE LYNCHHHHH!"
