""Neverland

All snubbed"

Victoria Clark was nominated for Gigi."

Thanks! I posted that a few posts later to clarify.

I'm thrilled for Disgraced being remembered in Best Play! I thought it would have been overlooked due to the onslaught of well-received new plays this spring.

It did win the Pulitzer. Deserves a Best Play nod.

Sadly having anyone from the same show usually spreads votes in the category. It's great for Fun Home, but Ruthie might have a shot if voters spread them out.

Not surprised about Neverland.

Great to see the love for Hand to God.

I didn't expect Neverland to get snubbed.

I thought Grammer, set, lights, and maybe score.

Alas, twas not to be.

A little surprised nothing for Side Show or Honeymoon. They've been good in recent years with honoring well received closed shows in a few categories. Guess The Last Ship got that honor, this year.

I'm surprised that 4 new musicals got 0 nominations this year.

Congrats to The Visit for 5 nominations and The King and I for 8

really wasn't expecting AN AMERICAN IN PARIS to get 12 nominations. Kudos!!! Not much to complain about.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I would have liked to see a little love for It Shoulda Been You.

But I'm not too upset. The roster of nominees is aces.

Interestingly, the only nomination that I think The Visit deserved was Best Scenic Design, and yet it wasn't nominated in that category!

Well it's pretty clear that FH is going to win.

I'm also gonna go with Cheno. As much as I love The Visit and Chita (goddess), I have to say Cheno deserves the award.

I guess the JRB spell has been broken. He usually gets at least a nomination for his music for each show. I would have taken Sting out and put him in there.

Also I am surprised that DZ didn't get at least set.

And I thought SIDE SHOW was excellent and should have gotten something.

I guess that is what happens Neverland when you throw your leading man under the bus.

"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."

Oh, absolutely! I saw it just before it closed and thought it one of the best plays of the season. I just thought the Fall opening and early closing would work against it, so I'm happily surprised to see it remembered.

why didn't they nominated Nathaniel for Wolf Hall!? Or Bryce Pinkham?? Featured actor in a play is stupid.
