Rare Cast Recordings Not on Amazon or Footlight

Where can I find the following cast recordings?

Three Wishes for Jaime
Walking Happy
Wildcat

I find it strange that Lucile Ball's musical (even though it was a flop) is out of print...hopefully it will be rereleased soon!

Do any of you own these? How are they? Any chance they will pop up on ebay?

Thanks so much!

I have both Walking Happy and Wildcat, both fun to listen to. Amazon has both (used): Walking Happy starts at $35 and Wilcat starts at $6.99, I think.

I've seen Walking Happy around Tower Records a few times.

I'd also love to find THREE WISHES...

re: Rare Cast Recordings Not on Amazon or Footlight

I have all three recordings. I bought them first when they were released as LPs and later got them on CD. They're all fun scores. Wildcat was the only one that I actually saw on Broadway. The night I went was one of those nights when "Miss Ball has decided not come to the theatre tonight." That was the announcement made just prior to the overture. I have never seen so many people leave the theatre becasue a star was absent. It seemed to me that 80% of the audience left. Having nothing better to do, I stayed. Her replacement, Mary Jane Watson was excellent and, as is often the case, the show somehow seemed to benefit. Sometimes a major "attraction" like Lucille Ball or Julia Roberts "takes away" from the material.

I got Woman of the Year in mint condition in a charity shop for £2.50 the other day!!!

Keep checking ebay though. Things do crop up eventually.

Does anyone know if a cast recording was ever made for LEADER OF THE PACK?

I was slightly disappointed with the Leader of the Pack LP, because it didn't include the few songs written specifically for the show like Rock of Rages re: Rare Cast Recordings Not on Amazon or Footlight

I would love to listen to The Mystery of Edwin Drood....but I don't have that kind of money! I have rarely seen it for under $100.

I have been looking for Annie Warbucks(even though it's not supposed to be very good), but it's rarely ever on eBay. And I don't feel like spending $80 for something I won't be listening to everyday.

has MANY older and unknown (by me anyway) cast recordings......if you are willing to go through all the pages of them. They are always my first choice.

Hey withoutatrace...we met when I went and saw IN MY LIFE's Closing matinee performance. It was on December 11th. Anyway, I have a copy of WILDCAT, I found it by mistake in a record store once in Santa Rosa, California and I GRABED it like that. Want a copy?

Elphaba- What rare cast recordings have you found on tower records? Could you just throw out a few random examples?
Thanks!

acrocksyo, I have the Annie Warbucks CD. I didn't even know it had gone out of print. The music is very good in fact. Keep checking Amazon and ebay, I'm sure it'll show up on there for a low price at some point.

Wanna Be A Foster, yeah I have only heard "I Always Knew" and then some other random song that I didn't like very much. Yeah it's been out of print for a while. The last time I found it was like $65 or something. I may just have to splurge and get it the next time I see it.

Yeah Annie Warbucks ain't bad. I like most of it (music wise anyway) better than Annie.

re: Rare Cast Recordings Not on Amazon or Footlight

There were 2 albums of LEADER OF THE PACK. A single LP of highlights (Elektra 60420) and a 2 LP set of the whole show (60409). Neither has been released on CD.

WILDCAT hasn't been reissued. It was issued in 1991 and deleted in 1999. So far, RCA has resisted the offers of outside labels like DRG to re-release their deleted titles.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
