I have an audition coming up and I have come up with a list of all the songs I could possibly do. I have a tennor-bari voice, but the audition is accapela so that doesn't really matter. Please take into considderation "goodness" of the song, popularity/if EVERYONE is gonna do it and other things and tell me the best one from each catagory & why. If a good song isn't there, PLEASE let it out! Thanks SO MUCH!

Good songs for your range, but some of them are overdone:

I would consider Ten Minutes Ago upbeat.
And Miracle of Miracles is for sure an upbeat song.

I think your song choices are fantastic, although I don't know how much help that'll be. Great job, and break a leg!

Rhytmically, they are similar.
They both start off with the long substained notes.
I feeeeeeeell youuuuu Johaaaaaanaa
Could beeeeeeeeee, Who knooooowwss
Then they get into a faster rhytmic pattern
I was half convinced I'd waken
There's something due any day, I will know right away
The structure is very similar in that way and I feel they echo each other too much.

Posted: 12/31/04 at 9:03pmWhen you audition for a performing arts high school, originality isn't what they're looking for. They're looking for yourenthusiasm for performing and your talent. They'r enot judging you on the material. This isn't true out in the professional acting world, but it most definately is of a performing arts high school. So BEST advice would be - sing the song you love most and feel most comfortable with, that you feel shows them what it is you do as a performer.
