Yes, I know she has her sitcom and we won't be seeing her on the great white way anytime soon but I'd love to see her back on Broadway. Annie Get Your Gun with her just breathed a new life into the show that Bernadette just couldn't bring - no offense cause I adore Benadette. There are most certainly roles out there for a woman of her talents, isn't there?
I mean she'd be a kick ass Miss Mona in BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS, no?!
What else? Any ideas?

Shortly after her successful run in the revival of ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, there was some interested mentions of a possible revival of THE UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN for her. The success of her new (in 2001) sitcom muted alot of other possible suggestions.
Ironically, she originally turned down the role of Molly Brown in James Cameron's TITANIC, thus Kathy Bates had the honor of playing that legendary real-life character in that now-classic film.

Her show was cancelled, wasn't it? I remember them advertising the series finale.

It was canceled last season then repicked up when the network realized they had a 'kill' fee if they didn't fulfill the contract so it got another season but I just googled and found out that this is infact the final season. It was officially cancled in February.
So maybe we'll see her sometime soon!

Brody,
I remember the MOLLYBROWN rumors back in the day but had never heard about the TITANIC connection. Thanks for the trivia.

Posted: 3/15/07 at 3:41pmIsn't it about time for a Whorehouse revival anyway? Would John Goodman work as the sherrif?
re: Reba#8
Posted: 3/15/07 at 4:11pmJohn Goodman would work as the house.

I could see Goodman as Melvin P. Thorpe...maybe...Dom DeLuise was just soooo good in the film. Besides, there was a revival back in 2001 with Ann-Margaret, but I try to forget that happened.
Come back to Broadway Reba!

Posted: 3/15/07 at 4:58pmPerhaps I'm stretching here, but she'd make an interesting replacement in Chicago for Mama Morton...

Reba would NEVER play a small part like Mama Morton. Either she carries the entire show or she ain't-a interested.
re: Reba#13
Posted: 3/15/07 at 5:01pmPersonally, I don't want to see Reba on Broadway. She has a pleasant voice, but she can't act.
re: Reba#14
Posted: 3/15/07 at 6:50pmAt the time of ANNIE GET YOUR GUN she was quoted as saying that she had enjoyed her stint in the show and would certainly consider doing another one. But she was also clear that she wouldn't be interested in doing another revival or replacing anyone. She'd like to create a role in a new show. So let's get writing.
