Rebecca Jackson Mendoza

I just read her interview with BWW (https://www.broadwayworld.com/viewcolumn.cfm?colid=7613)

First off, I knew right off the bat, just by seeing her picture, that she was Filipino, but she seemed familiar. And so I googled her, and it turns out that I had looked her up before! That's because her sister Natalie was Liat in the TV version of "South Pacific!"

I think that it's amazing how she grew up in such a musical family. I mean, ALL SIX children, PLUS the 2 parents? I would love to have a family like that! (not that i don't like my own. but, still. :) )

has anybody seen her perform yet? or has heard her CD? I'd like to know more about this girl.

I believe Natalie was also Eponine in one of the touring productions of Les Miserables.

The Mendoza's are Australian. Their Father has a filipino background but mother is aussie.

Rebecca was stabbed by her husband (who then committed suicide)durring the melbourne season of Showboat. that is true. it was all over the tabloids and trashy mags.

Natalie played eponine in the revival of les mis opposite her then boyfriend David Campbell, she was also in the reccent Melbourne Theatre Company Production of ....Spelling bee. She can also be seen in moulin rouge as one of those featured can can dancers in Material girl

Her Brother Aaron is also a phenominal performer studied at Victorian College of The Arts and has performed internationally and in Oz in Mamma Mia, Kiss Me Kate, Leader Of The Pack, Oh What a night (Alongside Natalie)

Rebecca's daughter phoenix is on her way to being a star. I saw her doing her first tap solo at a local dance eisteddfod a couple of years ago.
