I find Susan Egan's a bit dull, but I love Betty B.'s.

I wish Patti's was better recorded--anyone else notice how there are chunks where the quality of recording shifts sharply? and she sounds suddenly closer to the mike?

Anyway I do really like the woman singing on the Trevor Nunn London recording--who's name I have no idea.

(and I'm not a Sarah Brightman fan either but her version is surprisingly good--i think the song suits her rather thin voice for some reason)

I believe that Patti's is the difinitive version. Having said that, I really enjoy Stephanie J. Block's version and Sarah Brightman's version. Now that I read how good Liz Calloway's version is....I'm going to try and download that right away. Thanks for the heads up.

pc-You won't be sorry. Although, on iTunes it only has the recording from "Sibling Revelry", which, though great, can't compare to her album "The Story Goes On: Liz Callaway sing On & Off Broadway". "Sibling Revelry" has a piano, a bass (I think), and a percussion unit. "The Story Goes On" has a full fledged orchestra, and it is just breathtaking.
"Sing the words, Patti!!!!" Stephen Sondheim to Patti LuPone.

wiggum, I believe if you go to Stephanie J. Block's website you can hear her version of "Meadowlark." The link to the audio page is below.

Buckley's London Concert version gives me goosebumps every time....AMAZING orchestrations...you have to like her voice though...(I do)

Sharon Lee Hill was Genevieve in the London production and the wife of Trevor Nunn at the time.

Its a decent recording especially Alun Armstrong as the Baker.
