Am I the only one who REALLY wants this?
I mean, this show is HYSTERICAL!! Has anyone heard yet of a revival, or know if they are doing talks about one?

Posted: 12/15/07 at 3:11pmDan Studney (who has an account here) will probably know more than I would as far as revival plans go, but I will say this; I think it would be fun. It's one of my favorite shows.

Posted: 12/15/07 at 9:42pmI think it would be better as a national tour. If they can tour Avenue Q they should be able to tour Reefer Madness. Though it seems like there has never been a definitive script.

Posted: 12/15/07 at 11:31pmI would LOVE too see either a revival or a tour... just let me see the show!

re: Reefer Revival#5
Posted: 12/15/07 at 11:41pmI'd like to see a movie soundtrack first however I think a revival is more likely.
re: Reefer Revival#6
Posted: 12/15/07 at 11:44pmI saw this show when the University of Toronto put in on in a kind of "team production" with a local amateur theatre group (they used students as well as professional actors) and loved it. I would die if the revived this (and especially on Broadway!). I'd be in heaven in Kristin reprised her role.

Posted: 12/15/07 at 11:47pmThis is more suited for an Off-Broadway house. The original NY production was.

re: Reefer Revival#10
Posted: 12/16/07 at 12:34amIt was on a thread here. The composer or lyricist I forget said they hoped to release it on Ghostlight before Christmas
re: Reefer Revival#11
Posted: 12/16/07 at 1:36amI doubt that will happen christmas is only a few days away, and they don't have anything announced on their website

I got a message back from the writer and he said,

"The WGA strike has thrown life into turmoil out here. Dan and I are both members and are walking a picket line 4 hours a day, so the CD has taken a back seat for the moment. We’ve finished editing and mixing, but we have to go back in and fix a volume glitch in song “Reefer Madness.” We now officially have the rights from Showtime, so there WILL be a release, come hell or high water. Sorry it hasn’t happened faster."

I wouldn't worry too much about posting Kevin's "personal" info -- that's just his work info, which you could probably find online pretty easily anyway. And I echo what he says. We are both on those damned picketlinez (check out www.unitedhollywood.com if you want updates on what's going on and to see how evil and greedy the corporate bastards are truly being! To give you an idea, every time someone buys a DVD of Reefer Madness for $24.99, we're supposed to get 4 cents. Yep, 4. The WGA wants that to be 8, but that would cut into their profits too much! And internet they want for free! Bitter, party of one?)...
Anyway, with the CD we just have a few things to iron out, but it should be worth the wait.

I have the LA cast cd, but it's doesn't have the added songs (obviously). I can't wait for this cd.
Mary Jane alone is worth the price!
Kev and Dan, keep up the good fight!
re: Reefer Revival#20
Posted: 12/16/07 at 10:18amAs much as I love the movie, I will only see it if Ana Gasteyer plays Mae.
