Wow they must not think much of her--interrupting her performance with promos and cutting it off... Bizarre

Very odd choice indeed, WHY would they choose that?

Lauren seemed nervous at first but she was really adorable when talking with Kelly.
Was Jonathan's hair more exaggerated today than in the actual show or is it just me??

It was an odd arrangement.... However, it worked (somewhat) without explaining too much of the song context. And you could tell they both relaxed a little bit once the song got going. They both looked a little zombie-ish at the beginning.
And they both seemed rather annoyed at kelly and brian.... I would be too....
However, it was good to see a new song on the talk shows, even if the arrangement was strange...

Well that was peculiar.
At least they made up for the peculiarity of the arrangement by being adorable afterwards.

For those of us who missed it (and forgot to set up the TiVo), WHAT was peculiar?
Does anyone know if Bryant Gumbel is on all week? I personally cannot stand the man.

They started off with "Spring/Summer", then after Lauren's part, they started at the beginning of "Don't Do Saddness" and then ended with the two of them together. The only instruments used were piano, guitar, cello, and two violins (very similar to Duncun's version that can be seen on youtube) And, obviously, there was no dialogue.

I really missed the foot-stomping. I don't know. I enjoyed the performance, but I love the stage version so much, I wanted to be able to relive the stage moment..... *yes, I know thats a lot to ask for a daytime tv performance*

Monday 6/4 "Spring Awakening" Blue Wind /Dont Do Sadness- I actually loved the arrangement. Two of my favorite cast members (Jonathan & Lauren) performed .
Its kinda strange bec. they started with Lauren's part, then John which is the reverse
in the OBCR and on the play itself. I think it worked very well without the percussions, mostly strings, but again I might be biased bec. I liked Jon & Lauren
and I am just happy to see them performed a different song from the musical.
and yes- Jon's hair is longer and straightER on the show and much more exagerrated, which reminds me of a circus character ( cant think of his name? -one with blue hair)- but I like Jon's hair. BTW- Bryant Gymbel held a playbill =) j*

If the powers that be were so concerned about "giving away" Being Alive, you'd think they would save it the extra four days until the Tonys and just keep overexposing Marry Me a Little. That choice puzzles me, though if they waited to do significant TV press until the writing was very clearly on the wall, then nothing should stump me, I guess.

Can you not read, or are you just upset that I interrupted the Spring Awakening discussion to voice my opinion on something else related to the thread subject?

I'm in a fine mood; you were snippy. I wasn't aware that my post was even mildly incomprehensible. If you're confused, I'll clarify, but I have no idea what could possibly be confusing about that.

Clearly it was if you felt the need to post about it, but if you want to rip out the old "eh, I don't care" cover for having said something dumb, that's fine as well. Whatever. I offered to explain.
My deepest apologies from deterring the Spring Awakening dissection.
